Following the launch of the ALICE Artificial Intelligence for Logistics Applications group as part of the ALICE Systems and Technologies for Interconnected Logistics Thematic Group in May 2021, this webinar will invite speakers to share the application area they are working in, the problem they are addressing, why and how AI is the right technology and how the solution is technically realized. Our speakers will share their experience, learnings and next steps. We will be able to discuss and ask questions to them.

ALICE members and policy officers from DG MOVE, European Commission have had extensive discussions on 10th September 2021 on answers to the EC's public consultation on the New Urban Mobility Framework. ALICE calls for a more integrated and dynamic approach in which urban logistics is fully considered as part of the mobility system to connect various services together to make an efficient use of vehicles and space.

ALICE has opened the call to look for concrete examples in which R&I projects’ results have been further developed and have been deployed as commercial solutions, have generated a new market or have contributed to new policies or regulations. We want to promote implementation cases in order to inspire others to follow successful examples, and to understand enabling factors to lead such successes. The 2nd call focuses on Urban Logistics cases:

Smart Track 4 Waterway is an Interreg NWE project offering a management solution for shipment by inland waterway transport, providing an end-to-end seamless visibility of cargo: what pallet in what vessel, in what truck ? The project proposes to better connect inland waterway transport with last mile urban logistics. The AEROFLEX Final Event will be held on 28 September 2021 at the ZF Test Track Jeversen. The day will bring a great hybrid and virtual event, an active program, driving the AEROFLEX Demonstrators, live presentations of the innovations, like PUZZLE  software and Cargo Detection Volume. An interactive panel will eleborate on the presented results and recommendations beyond AEROFLEX, paving the way to improve efficiency in road freight transport up to 33%.
