💵 There could be a hefty refund in store for Floridians across the state… if they ever get around to claiming it. Per CBS Miami, “More than 30,000 families have yet to claim over $200 million worth of refunds from Florida’s Prepaid College Tuition Program.” The average amount of unclaimed funds per account is reportedly $4,700. “This is a time when we know that there are families who could definitely use a $4,700 check,” said program spokeswoman Shannon Colavecchio. “We don’t want to hold it. ♻️ Miami Beach will be hosting a climate change-themed conference next year. The summit, a collaboration between the city and The Aspen Institute titled “Aspen Ideas: Climate,” will invite leaders and orgs from all around the world to discuss solutions for the existential issue of our time. 🏥 Oolite Arts is launching a new exhibition today in celebration of World Gratitude Day and the healthcare heroes who’ve tended to Miamians during the pandemic. The On The Frontline exhibit features portraits of 30 staff members at Mount Sinai Medical Center illustrated by five Miami-based artists including past New Tropic interviewee Chire “VantaBlack” Regans. 😷 Miami International Airport has landed the top spot in an unfortunate list. Per WMFE, “Three Florida airports fall in the top five airports in the country for TSA workers who are sick with COVID,” and MIA arrived at number one.
