Update on Amy...
Dear Students and Parents,

I know many of you have been praying for Amy and wondering how she's doing.  First of all, thank you for your prayers; please keep them coming!  But, so that you can pray specifically, I wanted to given you a quick recap, as well as some of the latest of what been happening/going on.

Amy had her initial surgery on Sept 9.  The doctors were not able to accomplish all that they had desired during the surgery, but before anything further could be done, Amy needed time to rest and heal .  Over that weekend, Amy had several rough days, caused by swelling, and excess fluid around the brain not draining properly.  In response, the doctors decided it would be best to sedate Amy, to help her brain and body rest and heal from the trauma it had endured.  As such, she was sedated for a number of days early last week, but since then, she has slipped into a coma (even though she is no longer being sedated).

With that, here are the specific things that we would ask you to be praying for:
  • Pray that Amy's brain can heal fully from the trauma it has been through.
  • Pray that the swelling and excess fluid around the brain would continue to decrease.
  • Pray against any infection.
  • Pray that Amy would wake up fully.
  • Pray that there are no lasting effects from the tumor, surgery, or swelling.
  • Pray also for David and Susan (Amy's parents) as they seek to be there for her and to care for her during this time
  • Pray too for Brenden (Amy's Boyfriend) as he has to simply wait and pray from a distance with the rest of us.
Once again, thank you for your continued prayers.  I will seek to update you with any further info when I have it.  Let's keep praying!  Blessings!

Schedule Highlights...
This week at ALIVE, we will continue our new series called, The Maze.  We've already looked at Understanding God's Will, as well as God's instruction for how we can Follow God's Will in our lives.  This week, we'll consider the truth that even when God's will is crystal clear, we still sometimes go in the opposite direction.  To explore this, we will to dive into the Bible to look at a person who knew what God's will for him was, but chose to run from it. (NOT smart! 🤦‍♂️)  As always, there is much that we can learn from this account, so I hope you'll come join us as we have fun, worship and learn together from God's Word.
