WORSHIP
Fairview Family - grace, mercy and peace to you. I am thankful this morning in writing to you that we are one in the Lord and are able to enjoy the fellowship we have at Fairview. When I write these short newsletters I look forward to being with you and especially for our time of worship on Sunday mornings. I hope this describes you, too!
I think of our worship, and I like the words of Hughes Oliphant Old who began his book on worship in the following way: "We worship God because God created us to worship him. Worship is at the center of our existence, at the heart of our reason for being."
If you feel like worshiping, there's your reason why! See you Sunday.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
A few items of importance. Firstly, many of you still need to complete your children's ministry training. Every 2 years we ask you to redo this training to be reminded of our child protection policy. If it's been 2 or more years or if you have never completed this training then we ask you to get this done as soon as you can. Not sure if it's been 2 years? Click below.

Table Talk | Wed., Sept. 29, 5:30 p.m.
Dinner, teaching, and prayer on Wednesday nights in the Family Life Center. The cost is $9 per person, and the limit for families is $25.
New Members/ Inquirers Sunday | Sept. 26
Interested in learning more about Fairview? Come out at 8:45 this Sunday morning for the morning session and then join us after the worship service for lunch and the conclusion to the class.
Youth Events
Middle and High School parents, you should have received communication from me regarding the youth winter retreat at Ridge Haven from Feb. 18-21. The deadline to sign up for that is Oct. 15. Your teenagers will not want to miss this retreat! Please email me with questions and to sign up.
Also, don't forget about Barefoot Acres Ropes Course on Oct. 16. Plans have changed just a little; we will meet at the ropes course (181 Barefoot Acres Way, Fountain Inn) at 9:45 a.m.. Please let me know by Oct. 1 if your middle or high schooler is able to participate. Lunch will be provided that day as well. Expect to pick up your teen at 1 p.m.

A luncheon following the worship service. Sign-up to bring food in the back of the sanctuary.
Fall Festival | Oct. 23, 5 p.m., FLC
We hope you can join us for our fall festival, a time of fun for the family and an event for the community. Invite your friends and neighbors for trunk-or-treat, hayride, cake walk, and a variety of games. Looking forward to that time with you!

Book of the Month | Family Worship by Donald Whitney
Each month I'll use this space to suggest a book to you. September's book is one that you can find in the back of our sanctuary currently. It's a terrific little motivator for those times of worship within the home. There are only a few copies left (and they're free!), so grab yours today.
