Ambition & Balance

From the makers of Todoist and Twist

Hi Ambition & Balancers!

You may have missed this newsletter in your inbox last week. That’s because we’re busy preparing for the launch of a completely redesigned Twist.

For those of you who aren’t familiar, Twist is an async messaging app for teams burned out by real-time, all-the-time communication (who isn’t these days??) and ready for a new way of working together.

(If you’re curious, check out this video walkthrough of the preview version).

This redesign is over a year in the making. Our preview testers are giving it rave reviews and we can’t wait to share it with everyone soon. One user summed up what team communication in Twist feels like far better than I could:

"Being able to close Twist without guilt feels like a weight has been lifted. I can focus on my work and go back to my conversations when I'm ready."

In the meantime, because I’m feeling rather nostalgic, I thought I’d highlight some of my favorite pieces Fadeke wrote during her four years at Doist. She will certainly be missed around here, but her writing on Ambition & Balance will continue to touch lives for years to come. Enjoy!

The Remote Worker’s Guide to Becoming a Better Writer
Strong written communication is one of the first things we look for when hiring for a remote position. Who better to learn from than Fadeke?

The Complete Guide to Deep Work
This in-depth article explores the difference between "shallow work" and "deep work" and how to make more space for the latter in our lives.

How to Prioritize When There’s Always More to Do
Clear-eyed and practical guidance for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of important things they want (or need) to accomplish.

See you in another two weeks!

Productively,
Becky & the Doist team
