Tag Day Report
Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support Tag Day. It was great to see students and parents ready to get out into the neighborhoods to tag houses and collect donations. It was a long day, but the weather was gorgeous. It warmed up in the afternoon, but compared to year past, Saturday was a treat. Those who logged their steps averaged 7 miles! And a few groups were out until almost 3:30pm, almost 6 hours of tagging houses!
A Start Towards Success
As many of you know, this tag day was very different than years past. Students did not knock on doors to collect donations, but rather left tags on doors for neighbors to make online donations. Student still did meet neighbors out and about and collected many cash and check donations and the online donations have been coming in steady. We had great success with the numbers of students and parent volunteers that joined us. We covered a good amount of ground, but now we wait and hope those tags make it to the neighbors inside, and they find a generous moment in their day to donate. We are a long way from the donation success we are hoping for with our small, but mighty efforts.
Efforts Need to Continue
While we watch the donations come in from our neighbors, we need families and students to continue to spread the word via social media. Post pictures and links to our donation sites. What's Next?
We will shorty send out a Save the Dates email with some important events coming up in Sept and Oct, competitions, parades, assessments. Parent volunteers will be needed. In the mean time we are still in critical need of help in the concession stand. To date we have been operating with a small core set of volunteers. Please consider spending a night in the concession stand. Field hockey and F/JV football are a good break in, but we'd love to have you dive right into the deep and swim with us at our Friday night varsity football games. That is where the need is greatest.
