Annual Pay Uplift

We are pleased to announce the following pay award for 2021-22 for eligible staff (those on PCS’ pay scale and TUPE’d staff excluding directors and GPs,) which will be backdated to 1st April 2021 in the September pay run:
  • Bands A-C – 2.5% (currently £17,937.50 - £26,650)
  • Bands D and above – 1% (currently £27,270+)
Annual Appraisal Pay Progression
Staff eligible for pay progression whereby submitted annual appraisal documentation has shown exceptional performance, will receive an additional incremental pay increase in line with the Pay & Progression Policy. These increments will be backdated to 1st April 2021 and will also include the annual pay uplift. To be eligible, staff need to have completed a full appraisal cycle (12 months) and not already be at the top of their banding. This scheme excludes directors, GPs and transferred staff. Physios and Pharmacists are covered by a separate competency framework.

The PCS executive team would like to thank all staff for their continued hard work and support.
Changes to the PCS management structure

Earlier this week we emailed you all regarding the changes to the PCS Management Structure. The small number of people directly impacted are being supported through the process. If you have not been individually contacted then your role will NOT be directly impacted.

Save the date: PCS 'virtual AGM'

Following our successful event last year we will once again be hosting a virtual AGM, and would like to use the meeting as an opportunity to engage with as many practices as possible. All staff members are also invited to join.

The virtual event will take place on Wednesday 6 October, 6pm - 7.30pm.

Crystal Peaks Walk-in Clinic this weekend

We are hosting a walk-in clinic at Crystal Peaks Shopping Mall on the 18th and 19th of September. First and second doses of Pfizer & AZ are available and it is for everyone aged 16 years and above.
Team Updates
Martin Colclough's Retirement

As many of you will be aware this month Martin will be retiring, he has been part of PCS right from the start and has been nothing but helpful to everyone. Not only just the head of finance he was also a well known script writer in the PCS community.

Thank you for everything you have done at PCS, you will be missed and on behalf of all staff we'd like to wish you the happiest of retirements.
New Starters

Welcome to new starters Ian Richards who joins us as Strategic Finance Manager, Emma Johnson (Support Manager) and Zaynah Khan and Kerry McNeil who join us as GP Receptionists.

Great to have you all on board!

PCS 'Thank You Scheme'... Jennifer Cook-Batty added to the wall of fame.

This year we launched a new initiative to help you say ‘Thank You’ to colleagues who have helped you, or you have seen go ‘above and beyond’ in their work. The scheme is designed to give you the opportunity to highlight when someone really demonstrates one of our team values by being ‘innovative’, ‘ambitious’, ‘person-centred’, ‘empowering’, or ‘open’.

This week Jen has been added to our 'wall of fame'... why not take a look to see if anyone you know is on there!

Covid Vaccination Centre now open to ages 16+

Darnall Primary Care Centre is holding walk-in vaccination clinics, open to everyone aged 16 years and over. Call in at times below. 1st and 2nd doses (8 weeks between doses). Walk-ins available, including those not registered with a GP. We also now provide AZ appointments in addition to Pfizer at weekends.
Round 47... The Chain!

We thought ‘The Chain’ would be a fun way to help us all keep in touch and to find out more about different parts of the organisation. Each week a team member will answer three questions and then gets to choose who will be asked the same questions next.

Last week:
Cara Brazier. Deputy Head of Primary Care at Scale
This week: Neil Cormack, Stakeholder Engagement Specialist
1. What 3 words would your colleagues use to describe you?

The Hero of Waterloo, The Rocks, Sydney.

3. What is the best thing about your job?
The fresh challenge of getting my head around primary care and the NHS, and engaging with lots of interesting people on the journey.

4. Who do you nominate to go next in The Chain?
Sarah Chance
