David Skinner

David Skinner, a gifted and highly regarded member of NERSC and the high performance computing community for more than 20 years, passed away unexpectedly in late August. David's can-do spirit and his many contributions to both research and the Berkeley Lab community will be sorely missed.

Great work by our summer student Tirthak Patel, together with the quantum compiler team at @LBNLcs developing robust and very resource-efficient quantum circuit approximations with 30-80% fewer CNOTs, combined with "dissimilar" randomization.
