HPNET is excited to host a virtual exchange event from 21-22 September, 2021, in partnership with International Rivers, supported by TROSA funded by the Government of Sweden and WISIONS. Read more about our partnership with International Rivers here.
Building on past exchanges, the event aims to provide opportunities for South-South, peer-to-peer exchange and multi-stakeholder dialogue to advance small-scale hydropower (< 1MW) for climate and economic resilience.
Presentations and dialogue will focus on:
Technology reliability
Productive end use
Grid interconnection
Watershed strengthening
Social enterprise and finance
Integrated energy planning
In addition, the following cross-thematic aspects will be addressed:
Women-centric processes
Indigenous peoples and cultural value systems
Climate resilience solutions
Day 1 will focus on sharing from field-based practitioners from across the global South, while Day 2 will focus on multi-stakeholder dialogue on country and state specific challenges and opportunities in the basin regions of the Ganges, Brahmaputra, Meghna, and Salween (GBMS) Rivers (i.e. Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Thailand).

Day 2 is limited to persons working in the GBMS basin regions.
