Welcome to the Spring School Holidays edition of the Hills Shire Library enewsletter.  We sure are missing our littlest library members! With the NSW lockdown continuing into the holidays we are bringing back the Home-idays web portal. Full of fun challenges, reading lists and interesting online library resources to explore. 

Even though we’re currently locked down, your library card can still give you access to some magical resources. Join in The Big Borrow Bonanza to discover how incredible our collection really is!  All you need is your device, your library card and a sense of adventure. Let’s get borrowing!

Have you just read or listened to a book that you loved? Are you bursting to tell someone why they MUST read it immediately? We know the feeling! Use our super quick You ABSOLUTELY Should Read template to recommend it to someone else.  Take a picture and share it with your family, friends or us here at the library. Follow us on Facebook and you might see your review pop up there!

Choose your challenge! Use online resources to inspire your creations using whatever LEGO pieces you have at home. Can you complete them all? 

Blackout poetry is a form of “found poetry” using words you select from a printed text, to form a new message, giving the piece a whole new meaning! Check out our examples to see what can be created. 

Building blocks, sticks and stones, cardboard rolls – there are so many things we can build with. This school holidays get the whole family working on your building site and get everyone together to design and create One. Epic. Project. 

Spring has sprung!  Let’s use that beautiful sun to help create some fun works of art.  You’ll need a few things from around home to complete this creative project.  Paper, pencils, plastic animals (or any object that will cast an interesting shadow), pavement chalk, crayons, coloured pencils or textas.
