CCHS Newsletter 32 - 20th September 2021
Weekly Message from Mr Harding, Executive Head Teacher
It seems like we have all well and truly settled back into "normal" school life and I've found it strangely reassuring to be thinking about things other than CoVid.  Assemblies, form periods and breaks and lunches have all been part of the school day with the students being able to take advantage of the fantastic new and improved facilities following an extensive programme of summer works.

You will read about the success of Dylan Wright elsewhere within this week's newsletter.  I'm delighted that such a kind, thoughtful and hard working young man who really does represent the best of our values do so well and be publicly recognised in this way.  Well done Dylan!

Congratulations..!
What a night… Dylan Wright Young Citizen of the Year
On Thursday night Year 12 student Dylan Wright was named Young Citizen of the Year.  Mrs Nicklin, Dylan's Head of House and Mrs Gwinnett from the senior leadership team, were at Wolverhampton Civic Centre to watch the proceedings and offer their support as Dylan was up against four other young people in his category.

After the ceremony Mrs Nicklin said, "I am so so proud of him. I believe he is now an ambassador of Wolverhampton and is being signed up to many gigs across the rotary clubs. I have just left and he is in his element.  The Mayor of Wolverhampton said they were absolutely blown away by Dylan in his interview and he is a credit to his family and the school. I’ve walked away one very proud teacher."  Mrs Gwinnett summed it up "Well done to Dylan, he is a star!"

Very WELL DONE to Dylan from everyone at Codsall High School.

Catering
There are several exciting changes this year that will make it easier for you as a parent/carer to arrange a nutritious lunch for your child, and for your child to enjoy their lunchtime without the queues associated with lunch times previously. We wanted each student to have a relaxed enjoyable lunchtime with their friends, so have changed the eating options significantly.

Browse the menus here and please note all payments for food have to be made via ParentPay, money should be in your child’s account 24 hours before purchase to allow it to reach the till system in time.

School meals must only be paid for through the ParentPay system, no cash payment will be accepted.

Your ParentPay login details can be found in the ‘Documents’ section of your Edulink account.

If you have not received a letter via text informing you of your ParentPay account details or have any further questions, please email Mrs Carmell at jcm@ch-pb.com

Have your circumstances changed recently?
Parents claiming some benefits can claim free school meals for any of their children who are registered at a Staffordshire school and who would normally be at school at lunch time. School meals are a good way to ensure that your child eats well at lunchtime and you can save yourself time and money.

Even if you don't want your children to have the meals, claiming them helps their school. The more eligible parents who claim meals, the more funding the school receives.
