Moon Family

We are in Chiang Mai, Thailand

The Lord has planted a Calvary Chapel, Refuge Fellowship Chiang Mai. We have pretty much continued the same ministries we had in Yangon. Most of those who attended the church in Yangon now watch the online service and the women join the online women’s Bible study. We also recently started having an online children’s church for the children in Myanmar. And we are continuing to connect with the youth. The Lord has us basically ministering to those in Thailand and Myanmar. We have church service on Sunday in person, mid-week study, youth group, women’s study and once a month we have a men’s breakfast and a church potluck/pitch in. For our mid-week study we use this time to reach out as a church to the community. Some weeks we as a church serve at a relocation camp with workers and families from Myanmar. We are also in the plans of having a Prayer booth at the local night market by the church to pray for people and sing worship.

The Lord has made a way!

We are able to serve Myanmar through a few different ways. First, continuing the LGG (Love God Greatly) women’s Bible studies online and translating them to Burmese with a team of women. Second, our family and team serve with a group called FBR (Free Burma Rangers). This has been a way the Lord has opened opportunities for us to continue to serve the Myanmar people. Third, there are many people who live in Thailand that came from Myanmar and as a church body our hope is to reach out to them.

The Lord called us to Thailand

We didn’t understand why but now that we are here, we completely understand. In Yangon God showed us the need to equip the saints, not only the national saints but the international ones too! Chiang Mai had the largest missionary population in the world prior to covid. Yet, the local Christian population is around 1%. Since covid happened most churches aren’t meeting. The Lord put this verse on our hearts, “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:25 NLT). He showed us how we can help reach the world from this one location. We are supposed to help equip the saints from here and He will send them out to do His work.

How are the kids and family? When are we heading to the states?

Our family has defiantly transitioned, and it’s not done! Arron Jr. started his freshman year at Liberty University and is absolutely loving it. Our girls are enjoying the amenities in Thailand that we didn’t have in Myanmar such as eating street food without getting sick! We are taking this year to establish the new church and to have lots of family time together after leaving Myanmar. In about ten months we will make our way back to America for a few months. During that time, we will reunite with Arron Jr. and then Jocelyn will join him at Liberty University. There’s a chance when you see us next it will just be four of us traveling together.

Furlough Update

We will arrive in June 2022!!! Please let us know if you would like to meet with us. We have already started planning. Vicky will start arranging lunch and dinner dates. We will be visiting family and friends coast to coast. We’re so excited to see all of you!

Praise

*The Lord has given us direction on how we can still do ministry with Myanmar. Through online Zoom Bible studies with women and the youth, Sunday school online for the children, working with FBR and having church outreaches to local tribal camps from Myanmar.
*For provision for our hotel quarantine.
*For the Lord giving our family rest and restoration while continuing ministry.
*For the Lord’s guidance.
*For finishing another school year.
*We all have unity on the team.
*Praise for Laura fitting in so well with all of us in the same house.
*Praise for the team doing so awesome in the ministries God has called them to.
*Praise for our girls enjoying Thailand!
*Praise the LORD! In all things and always!

* Please pray for Alyssa as she’s planning to join us here in Thailand.

* Healing for Arron from his surgery.

* Please pray for our children in homeschooling. Jocelyn is starting her Senior year, Julianna is starting 8^th grade and Jenavieve is starting 5^th grade.

Opportunities to get involved:

We have been interacting with some private Christian schools, Sunday school classes, home school co-ops, and home school students. The children from the class ask our children questions, and we respond with a video from the field. This has been a blessing for our children, allowing our mission to become theirs. We believe it’s been a blessing to the other kids as well. If you would like to participate in this, please email us were@moonmissions.org. This is mainly done through a private group on Facebook because it’s easiest for us to return videos through there.

We have a prayer team who sends out specific prayer requests as they arise. They also meet for those able to do so. If you are interested, please email us.

Financial support may be sent to www.ssmfi.org using our account # 2031. Due to Myanmar being a closed country you must use our account number. Our names will be listed on the receipt from Shepherd’s Staff.
