WSC Autumn 2021 Update

The news you’ve all been waiting for!

From this coming Sunday, 19th September, we will be opening the club bar for indoor service, however we would encourage continued use of our lovely deck weather permitting.

Please note the following;

1: You will be required to show your vaccine cert and ID on entering the bar area and provide your contact number. Only fully vaccinated persons will be allowed indoors. If you are not fully vaccinated or can not produce your cert / ID you will not be admitted. (There are no exceptions to this for the safety of the staff and fellow members).

2: Please do not approach the bar, it remains table service only.

3: In line with the current restrictions and social distancing, tables & seating will be set out and must not be moved or pulled together.

4: Masks must be worn upon entering, moving through the building and leaving, however you can remove your mask while seated at your table.

5: Max 6 persons per table (excluding children under 12)

6: We ask that you continue to follow all government issued recommendations regarding social distancing and hand sanitising to protect all our staff and members.

Covid-19 has presented lots of challenges to our club and we would like to thank you all for your continued support and patience, as we find our way through the next stage of return to "the new normal".

The cruisers have had a successful sailing season, with very varied wind conditions. We've had many very interesting races through this season and with fading light will now only have racing on the last few Sundays of this month.

Lift out is planned for Sunday 3rd October, Ken & Mike will be in contact with cruiser owners closer to the day with an update.

It's hard to believe that our dinghy sailing season is almost over!

What a wonderful sailing season we enjoyed this year. Enrolment in our junior sailing courses were at an all time high and we thank our dinghy team of Patrick, Tammy & Sinead for all the hard work they have done this year. Huge thanks also to our SI, instructors, assistants and volunteers, shore parents, OOD's, safety boat drivers & crew, and our super PICO club team led by Louise Cherry, we couldn't have had such a fabulous season without all of your help.

With darkness falling quickly in the evenings now, this Thursday 16th will be our last evening sail this year.

We hope to run sailing as normal on Saturdays 18th & 25th, weather and slip works permitting.

With the cruiser lift out scheduled for Sunday 3rd of October, we ask that all members dinghies are removed from the boat park by Thursday 30th September.

Boat Park clean up will be held on Saturday 2nd October and we will be looking for volunteers to help out. Patrick will post up a shout out nearer to the day.

Annual Dinghy Regatta

Our annual dinghy regatta was held on Saturday 4th September. All had a super day, the dinghy team want to thank everyone who helped out to make the day a wonderful success.

Congratulations to all who took part in the racing.

We hope to have an awards evening in October, we will let you all know once a date has been chosen, please see some photos from the day below.
