This information was originally distributed via HUD.gov. HUD Exchange is redistributing the information for awareness.

HUD’s Office of Special Needs Assistance Programs (SNAPS), the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and the White House are hosting a training on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM EDT. This training will help Continuum of Care (CoC) and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) program grantees learn how to help eligible families enroll in the Child Tax Credit.

Experts estimate the new Child Tax Credit has the potential to cut child poverty in half. It provides the largest Child Tax Credit ever and provides historic relief to most working families ($3,000 per child between 6-17 years old and $3,600 per child under six years old).

For more information on the Child Tax Credit please visit the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Child Tax Credit Update Portal.
