About the presenter: Amy Melick, Ph.D., is the psychologist for the Cochlear Implant (CI) Team at Seattle Children’s Hospital where she has practiced since 2001. Dr. Melick conducts all of the psychosocial evaluations for children in the CI candidacy process. She also provides consultations to families who have children with hearing loss. Additionally, she runs monthly social support groups for children and teens who are deaf/hard of hearing and communicate through spoken English. Dr. Melick also has her own private practice where she does therapy and assessments with children and teens.
