Dear Friends,
I hope you were able to read Sunday’s email about the Nepali Glory Church and the proposed partnership. As a Leadership Team we started conversations about partnering and sharing space with the Nepali Glory Church in May, through our conversations we sought to learn more and dig deeper into this possible relationship.
This last Sunday, the congregation of Nepali Glory Church join us in our all-church picnic for a time of fellowship and conversation. We gathered together asking questions from each group, about space and time, about understanding of community and the needs of each group.
We spoke of a lease with the legal details of property, timing, rent and insurance.
More importantly we spoke of cooperation and joint mission to God’s work.
From using the same space at different, but close times. To sharing a calendar and being a bit more organized in our meeting times and events. (Who wouldn’t like that? 😊)
Mostly, I was inspired by a group of people with an honest and open vulnerability. The members of their congregation arrived early and helped set up, they asked questions and sought to communicate, even those who couldn’t speak English.
There are days that God works a little magic in my heart and Sunday was one of those days, from the joy and laughter of the kids in Flame Kids that morning, echoing up the stairs, to the sound of a community gathered together, singing praises to God during worship, to a shared meal with strangers who can hopefully become more than that.
I invite you into a time of prayer over the next 11 days. To pray over God’s guidance for us here at Flame of Faith UMC. We have many paths opening before us, and many decisions to guide us along the way, but in this one way, we have an opportunity to share with our neighbors and extend God’s hospitality.
In Christ,
Pastor Sara

As the COVID-19 case-rates in North Dakota have started a sharp incline once more, the Leadership Team has decided to ask everyone coming into the building to wear a mask. Thankfully, many of you are vaccinated and have the immunity to fight off a strong case of COVID. However, with our children’s programming returning and the case rates in our county, we’ve decided it is safest to return to masking.

Solar Ovens - "Extras" bags
Another opportunity to help with solar ovens is to sew the bags that contain the “extras” that come with the ovens; measuring cups and spoons, oven thermometer, black cloth to cover the bread pans when baking, and a device to indicate when water in the oven is hot enough to be purified. These are simple sewing projects. For more information, please contact Carol Knodle.
