Digital Identity Management by Mayank Malik

On Wednesday, SLAC's Mayank Malik joined us to discuss digital identity management. Mayank began by sharing the three key mechanisms for identification management

  • secure non volatile memory (NVM)
  • physically unclonable functions (PUFs)
  • physically obfuscated keys (POKs).
Mayank also explained Keymaker, SLAC's innovative approach to device identity. Keymaker is "a set of smart contracts, protocol, and library functions."  This innovative approach ensures social verification of device identity by neighboring devices. Mayank also broke down an example of simple sharding used by the Keymaker approach and the various applications enabled by the protocol. Applications include vehicle-to-vehicle data sharing among autonomous vehicles - a use case being explored by several MOBI working groups. Watch the lecture to learn more about digital identity management!
