Lutz Preparatory School NEWSFLASH:  Friday, September 17, 2021, V10 Issue 11
Dear Lutz Prep Families,

As many of you are aware, the Hillsborough County Public School Board ("HCPS") adopted a mask mandate with medical opt-out for all students on August 18, 2021.
During an emergency meeting held on August 23, the Lutz Prep Board of Directors voted to adopt HCPS's mask and quarantine policies.

This included the HCPS mask mandate policy with a medical opt-out.  Since doing so, we have seen a significant decrease in the number of LP students being quarantined.  On September 10th, HCPS Board approved an extension of its mask mandate policy to October 15.

The LP Board of Directors will be reviewing our schools COVID-19 dashboard report at future board meetings. At this time, as the HCPS mask policy is extended, the mask mandate for LP students will also be extended until further notice.  The LP Board of Directors and administration continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation.  We appreciate your continued support and cooperation during these unprecedented times.

The Blazing Bolts Running Club will begin Monday, September 20, 2021
The Running Club is a time for all of our younger, 1st -5th grade students to get together in a fun, safe environment and develop a love for running.  They will learn the proper mechanics and techniques to maximize their running potential while having a good time with their LP peers.

If this is something your child is interested in, you must complete the following three steps for them to attend:
1.    Click HERE to pay the participation fee (t-shirt included) at the school store.
2.    Click HERE to complete the liability waiver for after school sports.
3.    Your student must have a FHSAA Sports Physical on file with the school office (submit electronic copies to administration@lutzprpe.org).  If your child does not have a sports physical on file with us you can get them completed at a local Minute Clinic, Med Express, or Pediatrician.
When participating in Running Club the students are to stay in their normal dismissal spots until carline has ended (approximately 3:30 PM) and then will be released to the picnic tables outside of the gym where Coach McCarron will be waiting to give further instructions. Please make sure you are on time for pickup - if you are more than 10 minutes late your child will be escorted to aftercare where charges may be incurred.  We will be meeting the following dates from after dismissal until 4:30 PM.  If you have any questions, please contact chad.mollick@lutzprep.org.  Thank you and GO BOLTS!

How Can You Help to Meet Our Fundraising Goal?
If we look to our community and extended Lutz Preparatory supporters by spreading the word to businesses that support education we can without a doubt exceed our campaign goal!  Please consider the following examples of additional ways to support Lutz Preparatory.

Share on Facebook and Other Social Media to Your Friends, Family, and Community
Have you checked out our Lutz Preparatory School Facebook page?  Please like our page and then share our Bolts of Blue Campaign post on your personal Facebook page to get the word out to help us reach our goal.

Check with Your Employer to See if they Match Donations
Many of our parents' employers will match dollar-for-dollar donations to non-profit organizations like Lutz Prep.  Check with your HR department to see if they offer this benefit.  We also encourage our families to reach out to local businesses in your community for sponsorships in addition to potential employer matching benefits.  Thank you to those families who have pursued this company matching option and DOUBLED their donation to support our school!

Please make sure you sign and return the voucher that is stapled to the inside cover of your blue folder; the voucher will enter your student into incentive drawings throughout the campaign.

Leader in Me Program
Welcome to another year of learning and Leader in Me. We are excited to roll out our LIM Monthly Family Activities this year! We are going to be linking resources to our Google Forms this year to help with the understanding of each habit focus. Our goal with the monthly activities is to have 50% or more participation per grade level. Students who participate each month will earn a dress down pass. The grade level with the most participation will earn a Jeans Day for the teachers in that grade level. We look forward to seeing all your monthly work!
