"I found my sessions so very helpful, despite her being my second baby. I was really struggling with confidence and anxiety after the pandemic. With my first I was out and about in the world so quickly but due to lockdowns this hadn't been the case second time around and as a result my confidence around my parenting skills was low. I was also very anxious about taking my children out into the world after the lockdowns as it all felt like a scarier place.

However, my OXPIP sessions did wonders for my confidence, they allowed me to see my parenting through the eyes of my baby rather than through all of the worries in my head. Changing this perspective made such a difference and gave me so much more faith that I wasn't doing a bad job.

The sessions also helped me as I navigated the post lockdown world
and got my children back out there again.
The benefits to us all have been huge so thank you so very much OXPIP"

Welcome from Helen Callaghan, CEO Clinical Director
Dear Friends,

We hope this finds you well and that you are now enjoying seeing family and friends face-to-face!

Referrals are continuing to come in steadily for our parent-infant therapeutic service in Oxfordshire. We currently have a waiting list of 4-6 weeks but have managed to keep this down, despite staff shortages. Therapists are starting to see clients face-to-face in Oxford and Carterton. Clients in Banbury have been seen face-to-face throughout the year and we plan for more face-to-face sessions throughout the county, but we will still retain a blended approach of delivery and will review this regularly.

Congratulations to local dad Jon Gibbard who ran the Chiltern Wonderland 50 and the London Marathon for us recently - it is not too late to donate so please do show him your support via the link below. Any donation big or small makes a huge difference to our work with parents and babies in Oxfordshire.

We have had more team changes at OXPIP. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Ailsa Lamont at the end of September. We thank her for all her hard work and enthusiasm and wish her well!  In September we welcomed to the team Trisha Sullivan as a Parent-Infant Therapist. Trisha completed our Parent-Infant Therapist Diploma in 2017 and it is great to be able to welcome her back to the team! This month we welcomed Kelly Vincent, our new Office Co-ordinator (Maternity Cover), who it is great to have on board.  Lizi, our Operations Manager, is going on Maternity Leave at the end of November - I just want to thank her for all that she does for OXPIP and wish her and her husband well as they get to know their baby.

We are currently advertising for a 2-3 day a week Parent-Infant Therapist - more details below. Please do pass them on to anybody who you think may be suitable for the role.

Best wishes,
Fundraising
We are very heartened by your continuous support of our fundraising initiatives - thank you. Your donation, no matter how small, helps to make our OXPIP Projects sustainable in these very challenging times.

We have recently had a couple of successful fundraising events, with more planned for the year - please visit our Support Us page for updates.
Running for OXPIP
Local dad, Jon Gibbard ran a total of 76.2 miles for OXPIP - the Chiltern Wonderland 50 and then two weeks later the London Marathon!

Chiltern Wonderland 50 in Sept - "Did it! Definitely in the top few hardest runs ever. I really enjoyed it and it was truly awful at the same time. It was pretty hot out there and I was having a really good run to 37 miles at 7 hours, so should have been on for a ~9 hour finish, but just got too hot and so had to walk a good chunk before I could walk / run again. Was delighted and a bit emotional to get in around 6pm, just over 10 hours of elapsed time"

London Marathon in Oct - "I had the most amazing day, the atmosphere was Carnival like! I was really pleased with how I got on. I kept going and going, and thought my legs would really suffer in the final third - but kept up a decent pace and set a new PB by seconds...which was better than I could possibly have imagined!"

Huge congratulations to Jon for his personal achievement!

He's raised over half of his target so far - and there is still time to donate!
Please help him celebrate his achievements and reach his target by donating via the link below.

We hope to raise £3,500 to help us provide Parent-Infant Therapy to more referred families in Oxfordshire.
