Overnight Church-Wide Retreat 10/1-10/3: Registration Deadline This Sunday 9/19!
Join us Friday evening after dinner 10/1, through Sunday lunch 10/3, for a church-wide retreat at the Incarnation Center in Deep River, CT with special guest speaker John Smed for "A Journey in Prayer: Learning How to Align Your Faith with Your Life in Prayer." All of our CPC family and friends, of all ages and demographics, are invited to refresh, rebuild, regroup, and refriend. There will be main sessions and ample time for fellowship, including time to enjoy the outdoors (canoe, hike, etc.). Prior to the retreat, we encourage everyone to read Smed’s very short book “Journey in Prayer” (available on Amazon or now in our CPC bookstore). Whatever it takes, you will not want to miss this - especially don’t let money be an issue: pay what you can and CPC’s scholarship fund will take care of the rest. If you can contribute a little extra for someone else, we welcome that too!  For any questions or help with registration call 203-777-6960 or email AnnieRegister here by 9/19/21!

School of Discipleship.

  • Children’s Sunday School: Resumes 9/19 at 9:30am! More info here

  • Adult Sunday Studies:
    • The Bible Project: A Journey Through the Bible -- Book by Book | Begins 9/19 at 9:30am: Have you ever tried to read the Bible and get lost in the weeds? Try to read from cover to cover and don’t make it past Exodus? Ever wonder what the main points of each book are about? Join us Sunday Mornings as we discuss a different book of the Bible each week in order. In order to become biblically literate and to fall more in love with God and His Word, we have to understand the bigger picture of God’s redemption. We’ll be using the popular and easily digested “Bible Project” videos each week to kick off our discussions. The Psalmist exclaims, “I rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil” (Ps. 119:162). Let’s mine the treasures together! 9:30am in the Fellowship Hall.
    • Just Prayer | Begins 10/10 at 9:30am: Not “just” prayer, or prayer about justice, but prayer alone! Inspired by our church-wide retreat, we want to be a church that depends on God and works for results that only God can provide, as opposed to ones that we can manufacture. So let’s do this together - no program, no agenda, just a commitment to pray kingdom prayers together according to the command of Christ, for the glory of Christ, and the building up of His Church!
  • Women’s Discipleship Group: In Romans, Paul expresses a longing to be together “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. “ Consider joining us on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month (7-8:30 pm) as we encourage, support and challenge one another in a small group setting.  We are using the book A Place to Belong by Megan Hill.  Please join us (in person with safe distancing or by Zoom) as we explore the beauty of the church and how we can delight in the “loveliness of Christ’s gathered people.” Contact Lisa or Diane.
  • Men’s Discipleship Group: Every 1st and 2rd Thursday evening at 6:30pm we gather for a time of fellowship and discussion of an article. Emails are sent out every Monday with info on time, location, and a link to the article. If you are interested in joining (and are not on the men’s email list), contact Jerry.
  • Young Moms & Dads Discipleship Groups: If you have a child age 12 or under and are desiring to grow in your faith then consider joining our young moms or our young dads discipleship group! For more information contact Jefferson Bennett by 9/22.
