MeeScan App Supports Self Checkout and Curbside Service
If you would like to check out your books and other items without waiting at the circulation desk for help, we have great news! With the library's new MeeScan app, you can open the app on your phone and scan your books YOURSELF as you walk through the library! Of course if you prefer the "personal touch," library staff is always pleased to help you with your checkouts.
Also, the easiest way to pick up curbside service (both for patrons and for the library staff who assist them) is to use the MeeScan app on your phone to let a librarian know you’re ready for your items. If you love curbside service, please download the app. . . do it for yourself and for our library staff!

Falls Church History Room at the Library Now has Walk-In Hours!!

There has always been a "Local History Room" in the library, full of historical pictures, maps, and other artifacts. However, before the renovation many of you may not have found it: it was a small room in the lower level, and you mostly needed an appointment to explore it.
The newly dubbed "Falls Church History Room" is now upstairs. You enter it through the new adult reading room, straight ahead to the right of the circulation desk. The best news: during its open hours, you can walk in and browse around, or ask the librarian for help finding something.
As always, there is also a large digital history collection archive, accessible to everyone through the website.

Summer Reading Prizes Available Through Sept 30 (and more exciting news!)
Library patrons of all ages can sign up for summer reading program (and prizes) through September 30! Sign up online at https://www.fallschurchva.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1105. Kids who want to pick up their free book need to come in by September 30th.
