We're Back!
As students returned to competition this fall for the first time in over 500 days, I was struck more than anything by the joy on their faces and the smiles, focus and excitement as they took the field for warm-ups, walked onto the court and crossed the finish line. While we continue to navigate the challenges of the pandemic that kept us away from competition for so long, the game days and bustling halls of the Keohane Sports Center have been a welcome reminder: We are back and we are ready to face the next challenge ahead.
Earlier this month, we took the first step toward moving past the pandemic as I presented PERA’s 2021-2026 Strategic Plan to our faculty and staff. The pandemic changed the way we taught, learned and competed, but it did not change the desire of our department to provide the best possible experience for our students to succeed. A collaborative approach to our future, the plan will require the support of each member of our faculty and staff and from all of our friends, families, and members of our Blue Nation community.
Your time, effort and support has always made us stronger. As we work to help our students develop as leaders and empower our graduates to be a force for change in the world, we hope that you will show your Blue Pride by connecting with your teammates, family and friends through our upcoming Walktober program and by cheering on our teams throughout the year.
Go Blue!
