OSSTF/FEESO Student Achievement Awards - 2022
OSSTF/FEESO is pleased to announce the opening of the annual Student Achievement Awards. This year, our Student Achievement Awards theme is “Our Moment in Time”! Two bilingual posters and information documents were delivered to each workplace in September to promote both the $1,000 provincial prizes and this year’s theme. Included in each package sent to workplaces was an infographic outlining the application process, tips for both students and supporting staff members and a student announcement template to generate interest in the school. We also have added two new categories, one for poetry and prose and another for visual art.
We are encouraging students with the support of an OSSTF/FEESO member who has worked directly with them, to submit an original piece of writing, visual art or media based on this year’s theme, Our Moment in Time. Please ensure that students have fully completed the entry form and have a supporting staff member letter attached prior to sending it to Provincial Office. We will not accept entries without a signature and supporting letter.
Schools must submit their winning entries to local District offices no later than November 19, 2021. Remember, student work must first go to your local District office, not directly to Provincial Office. District offices must submit their winning pieces to the Provincial Office by December 10, 2021. Finally, provincial winners will be acknowledged and celebrated at our OSSTF/FEESO Annual Meeting of the Provincial Assembly (AMPA) in March 2022.
COVID-19 Info – We prefer work being sent to us in person, but in recognition of safety concerns during this pandemic, students who may be working from home or school closures we will accept work sent to us digitally at the student.achievement.awards@osstf.ca email address.
