Planting in progress
To this

Over the last twenty five years we have planted more than $40,000 worth of seedlings.   Melbourne Water worked on the creek to take away the spreading areas and confine the creek to the narrow path it has today.   They replanted the areas they had cleared during the works in early 2000. Boroondara Council has also provided many plants, particularly on National Tree Day.

Our Friends Group has been very active, and Tuesday Toilers have taken on weeding which is essential if our plants are to flourish.   We have had school groups, kinder groups, Duke of Edinburgh Award students, Aspect group and other interested volunteers helping in the work.

We are looking forward to continuing this work once restrictions are eased.   In the meantime, South Surrey Park is an excellent place to walk, birdwatch and take a picnic.
