We are running low on cloth masks.  If you have school masks at home, please return them.  Also, remember to pack extra masks in your child's backpack.

School Directory

We will start to create the school directory during the first week of October.  It will include your family's name, email, phone number and mailing address.  If you do not want to have your family's information included, please email DBSOffice@hartfordschools.net.

Contact Tracing

Hello Dothan Brook School Families,

We want to share our COVID response protocol for contact tracing.  It is based on the current guidance from the Vermont Department of Health (DoH). When we have a student or staff member who tests positive for COVID and it is determined that they were in the building during their infectious period, we must do contact tracing to identify any individuals who may have been exposed. We want you to stay informed and know what to expect should your student be impacted.
 

• The school nurse will interview the person who tested positive and work with the student, principal and teachers to identify any close contacts.
• Students who are identified as close contacts of the positive individual (they were within 6ft of that person for at least 15 minutes, cumulative time or share an air space--ie classroom--for 4 hours or more) will need to be quarantined.
• Those students who need to quarantine will stay with their class in the classroom (most commonly the whole class will quarantine due to shared air space). You will receive a phone call notifying you of the exposure and the need to pick your student up from school.
•  Detailed information about dates of quarantine, testing, and symptoms to monitor for will be provided via email later in the day.
•   The school nurse and administration will communicate and cooperate with the DoH throughout the process. Names of students identified as close contacts will be provided to the DoH.
•  Teachers will reach out to families with quarantined students about remote learning.

• It is important to note that this protocol is based on the current guidelines from DoH which are subject to change. If we need to alter our response, we will be sure to let you know.

SBAC Results

Students in grades 4 & 5 who attended DBS last year will receive their SBAC results next Friday (September 24).  A hard copy of the results will be placed in each child's Friday folder.

Every spring students in grades 3, 4, & 5 participate in the SBAC math and ELA assessment and grade 5 also completes the science test.  The SBAC is a computer based test that includes multiple choice, short answer questions and essay responses.  Please reach out to your child's teacher or Rick Dustin-Eichler with any questions.
