Worship This Sunday

For Sunday, September 19, 2021, Our experiences are both communal and individual. We are all in this together and the Holy Spirit will move us into a new way of being together. Join our Director of Children and Youth Ministry, Rev. Maggie Ward, as we explore Acts 2: 1-13.

Pathfinders and Spiritual Journeys will be meeting on Zoom and in-person at 9:15 am. We'll have Virtual Mugs and Hugs at 10:00 am and Worship will start at 10:15 am.

We will be having hybrid online and in-person worship. We look forward to welcoming you either on Zoom or in the Sanctuary.

If Zoom asks you for a password, it is 3601.

From the Cumberland River District of the Future Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference.
As we continue to pray for the communities affected by the ravaged county floods in our connection, there are many ways we can help. Currently, there is not a great deal that volunteers can do on site. Unsolicited volunteers create additional responsibilities on communities that are already overwhelmed in the rescue phase. As county leaders communicate the time for larger relief efforts to begin, the UMC and many other partners will offer human resources.

Monetary donations are the best way to help the conference respond. Donations directly to the Conference are the most simple and should be mailed to:

Tennessee Conference
PO Box 440132
Nashville TN 37244-0132

Or, donations may be directly made by clicking on the link below: DONATION

In addition to monetary donations, supplies are needed and are being collected. The items include the following:

**Large heavy duty garbage bags, blowers or fans, medium plastic totes, rakes, and square shovels are also needed**
We should all give a huge THANK YOU to our tech volunteers, Mike Friddell and Luke Diamond who have been making our hybrid in-person/Zoom worship work for the past few months. Their work has been amazing and has made it possible for us to be together, even when we aren't all in the same building (sometimes when we aren't even in the same state).

But we need a few more folks to help lighten the technology load on Sundays. If you are comfortable with computers and/or are interested in learning about the camera work that goes into Sunday morning worship, contact Jessica. Training will be provided-- it's pretty easy.
Don't forget the Young Once Exercise group on Saturday at its new time at 9:30 am at the church. Reach out to Edgarr Kabiling if you have any questions!
Pride is THIS WEEK:

If you are going, remember to get have your COVID-19 proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for entry.
To help us create a more generous welcome for visitors, we are going to start wearing nametags to help people get to know us. Please fill out the form below to request a name tag. Questions? Email Jessica.

If you requested a name tag already, you'll find them on the table next to the elevator near the Bowling Ave entrance to the church. Return them there or to one of the welcome tables as you leave the sanctuary. We are working on a more permenant solution for them. Watch this space!

This Sunday, at 2:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall, join us for Chickenfoot Dominoes! Players of all ages and experience are welcome to join in the fun.

Pat Pile is the the reigning Top Dog-- she won last month's even with 4 zero-scoring hands and defeating last month's winner, Ashley Edwards. Rev. Maggie joined in the fun as a first-time player. Do you have what it takes to be our next Top Dog?
After many years of faithful service in the church office Pat Pile has decided to step down. Her help has been invaluable. This opens up the opportunity for someone to step up an volunteer to work the office on Wednesdays. Contact Joe T. Hensley for more information.

You can donate in the following ways:

  2. Give online through Realm. Go to Blakemore's website and click on "Give."
  3. Leaving your gift in the basket at the back of the sanctuary when you join us for in-person worship.
Thank you for your ongoing generosity.
While we are practicing physical distancing, we are gathering together on Sunday mornings by Zoom. We are posting video recordings of sermons from these sessions to our YouTube channel. Follow the link for Sunday, September 12, 2021.

While you're there, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel. If we reach 100 subscribers, we get a simpler personalized web address.

We believe that Jesus’ message of unconditional love means that every human being is a child of God and is worthy of love, respect, and inclusion. We welcome everyone into the full life and ministry of our community. We celebrate people of every race, ethnicity, culture, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, family status, faith history, physical or mental ability, education, political perspective, and socio economic and housing circumstance. We stand against discrimination and exclusion. We worship and serve with all people through love, acceptance, and reconciliation in every part of our lives together.
