NEXT UMC BLOOD DRIVE - TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH

The Red Cross continues to have an ongoing, critical need as blood product distributions to hospitals remain higher than anticipated. In recent months, the Red Cross has sent 12% more blood products to help hospital patients in need, including higher distributions to hospitals in areas where the pandemic continues to disrupt normal blood collection operations. To help meet the demand, we have scheduled another blood drive for Tuesday, September 28.

Scheduled donations will be accepted from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. To schedule a donation go to https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results.
If you have any questions, please contact Chris Bryant at 240-460-8536.

CHANGES COMING TO EMMANUEL!

In case you missed the announcement in the Sunday service on Sept. 5th, there are some changes taking place at Emmanuel!

Dana Scott, our beloved pianist, has taken a new position on Sunday mornings and will no longer be playing at Emmanuel. Thank you Dana for your years of wonderful service!

Rev. Matt Upshaw and his family are moving back to Indiana in late-October in order to be closer to family. He'll be staying on in an online and remote capacity for a few months in order to help with the transition. So after the move he'll be supporting Emmanuel online from Indiana with recorded children's sermons and communications work.

And, some brand new information that wasn't shared Sunday: Rev. Leo Yates has taken a new position with the Baltimore-Washington Conference Mission Center team as the new Accessibility and Inclusivity Coordinator. This will require some travel and as a result he will be interpreting Sunday services at Emmanuel a little less often. But don't worry, when he's unavailable we'll still be offering ASL interpretation. Be sure to congratulate him the next time you see him!

As Pastor Edgardo shared on Sunday, times of transition are challenging, yet exciting, and we wish everyone the best in these new endeavors!
ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT

The Bible teaches us to pray in every situation. Emmanuel’s Prayer Ministry group invites you to their weekly prayer conference call. Every Wednesday from 7:30pm to 8pm you can join the call. We start with a prayer, scripture reading, and devotion. Then the line is open for anyone to pray for joys or concerns.

For more information, or to join the Prayer Line, click HERE.

 LOVE FOR LARS

Please continue to leave non-perishable food items, as well as diapers/Pull-Ups and wipes, in the container under the carport of the Ministry Center as you are able. Rod Sams will pick donations up daily, and deliver them to LARS weekly! Thank you to those who continue to give! In photo - 50 pounds of EUMC food donations delivered by Rod Sams to LARS on Monday, June 28th!
