Farmworker and environmentalist groups asked a federal appeals court in September to reject the Environmental Protection Agency’s 15-year reapproval of paraquat, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

“It is unconscionable that EPA so devalues the lives of farmworkers as to allow the continued use of this harmful, toxic pesticide,” said a pesticide safety coordinator for the Farmworker Association of Florida.
