SOMD Sex Trafficking Awareness Event
Four local women are co-hosting an anti-trafficking awareness event on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Leonardtown Library from 10:00-1:00. We hope you are able to attend. Here’s what you can expect: A sex trafficking awareness event, which will feature speakers talking about illegal trade of people for exploitation or commercial gain. St. Mary’s County is not insulated from human trafficking. What is considered a form of modern-day slavery can happen anywhere — in rural or urban regions, upscale or poverty-stricken neighborhoods. Those attending will learn how to spot the signs of human trafficking in the community, and will hear from great speakers, experts in their fields as they discuss the impacts, lures and safety nets related to trafficking.
Kristi Wells, CEO of Safe House Project will speak about how to spot, report and prevent child sex trafficking in the United States. Jennifer Foxworthy, Founder and CEO of Unstoppable You Ministries will speak about problems intersecting with trafficking such as abortion, homelessness and pornography. Detective Joshua Buck of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office will speak about various human trafficking platforms and the internet threat to our children.

Unstoppable You Conference- York, PA
Don't miss out! Wrapping up the third and final stop in the Unstoppable You Conference 2021 Tour, UYM will be hosting the event in York, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 6th at the York Jewish Community Center (2000 Hollywood Dr., York, PA 17403) from 10am to 3:30pm. This event will be held in person only. Living Unshackled ON Purpose Live Episodes

Mission Moment
UYM collaborated with Mrs. Sade Howard by sponsoring 14 pageant tiaras and 7 bibles to present to the young ladies attending the Princess Ball in York, PA on September 18th. The ages of these fearfully and wonderfully made girls were from 6 to 12 years old. It is our hope that they know they are God's creation to be valued and loved.

On September 25th UYM hosted the Unstoppable You Conference in Jacksonville, FL. Words cannot accurately describe what transpired at the conference except everyone in attendance, in-person and virtually, received a mind, body, and soul makeover. Each attendee mentioned how they received exactly what they needed from the event. Only God could orchestrate something so amazing. Jennifer was humbled to be the vessel. Seeds were planted. We pray that the fruit will manifest at the proper time.

*On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men
*1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence (e.g. beating, burning, strangling) by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
*The presence of a gun in a domestic violence situation increases the risk of homicide by 500%..
*1 in 15 children are exposed to intimate partner violence each year, and 90% of these children are eyewitnesses to this violence
*Studies suggest that there is a relationship between intimate partner violence and depression and suicidal behavior
*Victims of intimate partner violence lose a total of 8.0 million days of paid work each year
