Hey <<First Name>>,

Thank you for praying with us last week!  Little Joshua is on the mend and will be without bandages soon.  We had Ben and Debbie over for dinner and I was able to meet up with Ben over the weekend with all of our kiddos together to play in the park.  By the grace of God, they are healing, but keep praying for them.  As we can all understand, losing a child just days before she is due to be born is tough to say the least.

Here are a couple other highlights from recent days:
  • Geordie came to saving faith in Jesus after he was introduced to our church through visiting PAZ Coffee Shop.  He's been faithful to our family group, and now that we met in person on Sunday, his wife, Sayaka, came too!  She quickly confessed to have ZERO knowledge about Jesus, to which my reply was to come and taste and see!  Let's pray for her salvation too!
  • Yuji and Naoko brought a Japanese mother and her two elementary school age daughters to play with our family and the Reutter family.  They just returned to Japan from living abroad and the girls are having a hard time adjusting to their new life.  This is common for children of Japanese business people returning from abroad.  Pray for Tomoko and her daughters to find community in the body of Christ and look to him for their ultimate joy!
  • The near nation-wide Covid State of Emergency in Japan has been lifted, which means we'll be able to host in-person worship services again starting October 17th.  Pray for a smooth transition.
  • With two teammates currently traveling to the US, I've been tapped to take on additional responsibilities with producing our online church service.  It's been going well, but now we'll be adding on a live service!  Pray that all continues to goes well!
  • Our focus over the next 6 months is identifying and solidifying those people who will take our place as family group leaders, among other administrative and leadership roles in the church.  Pray with us for wisdom and insight in this process so that we could transition to the new church plant successfully.

Blessings in Christ,
John, for Silvia and the boys
