Anna Cavaliero at Oxford Lieder Festival
8th October, 3:30-4:30pm, Online

In addition to appearances from Sian Dicker, Lotte Betts-Dean, Helen Charlston and Alex Soares at this year's Oxford Lieder Festival, Anna Cavaliero is performing alongside pianist Natalie Burch as part of a study event on Ivor Gurney’s devotion to his beloved Gloucestershire led by Dr Kate Kennedy, biographer of Gurney. Kate will be talking in particular about the Gloucestershire landscape and its influence on Gurney’s poetry and songs which and her talk will be illustrated with live performances from Anna and Natalie.

This talk helps set up the later dramatised recital from Robin Tritschler and Robert Murray which takes us through Gurney’s life using his own music. Only online tickets available!

CMF Artists at St George's Bristol

Under the new Artistic leadership of Samir Savant, formerly of the London Handel Festival, St George’s Bristol welcomes two recent City Music Foundation Artists during October, as part of their Lunchtime Concert series.

Firstly, on October 7th, George Fu brings a dazzling programme drawing upon his debut experience at Presteigne Festival.  Centered around a distinctly French core, there are works by Dutilleux, Tailleferre, Waley-Cohen, and concluding with Ravel’s luscious ‘Miroirs’. Also not to be missed is the chance to hear James B Wilson’s Water Dance, reprieved after George gave the premiere earlier this summer.

Later, on October 21st, Rosalind Ventris brings a programme of solo viola music, with two little known works by Imogen Holst and Thea Musgrave bookended by Baroque composers Telemann and JS Bach.

We are delighted to see our artists perform at this iconic venue in Bristol!
