Public Space Management Plan Community Meetings
The City of Takoma Park is hosting outdoor community workshops to gather community input that will inform the development of the City's Public Space Management Plan.

Join the first meeting TONIGHT from 6-7pm outside the Takoma Park Community Center (rain date information will be posted on the website if needed). See here for details about other upcoming meetings in English, Spanish, and Amharic.

City Committees -- Deadline to Apply is THURSDAY!
The City of Takoma Park welcomes residents with all different types of experience and knowledge, and seeks diverse members to represent our community on city committees.

We are currently recruiting applicants for a many different committees, and we want your help! Learn more here and apply by Thursday, Oct. 7.

6:30pm - Call to Order, Vote to Convene in Closed Session
  • The City Council will vote to convene in closed session on Wednesday, October 6, at 6:30 PM to discuss matters related to collective bargaining with AFSCME Local 3399. The meeting will be closed pursuant to Annotated Code of Maryland, General Provisions Article, §3-305(b)(9). After the closed session, the Council will reconvene in open session for the regular meeting at 7:30 PM.

COVID-19 Dashboard Data Updates
The Takoma Park COVID-19 Data Dashboard has updated data through September 30:
  • In the past two weeks, the percentage of persons in 20912 who are at least partially vaccinated rose from 63% to 64%. Fully-vaccinated rates rose from 57.3% to 58.1%.
  • There were 39 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the past two weeks. The City's total number of cases reported since the start of the pandemic is now 1,903.
  • Rates of new cases have stabilized after increasing between June and August, but rates remain elevated to levels similar to April 2021.

Memorial Gathering in Honor of Pat Loveless
On Saturday, Oct. 9, from 2-4pm, members of the community will gather at Heffner Community Center, 42 Oswego Street, to honor the memory of Pat Loveless, an active and passionate member of our community who was known as Peace Delegate of Takoma Park. Pat passed away in 2020. See here for details. RSVPs are appreciated due to limited space.
