Katy Hurt
 
Steeped in country roots, but never one to simply yield to the traditional Nashville sound, Katy Hurt stretches the country music genre in new and exciting directions - haunting blues vocals, towering country rock guitars - pre Covid Katy kicked off 2020 on a high note, headlining at the UKCMSA Awards evening, hosted by Belles and Gals, taking home awards for “Best Female Artist” and “Best UK EP/Album with Unfinished Business”. She was, and remains, an artist on the rise.

Mik Artistik's Ego Trip
 

Hugely popular Leeds-based trio Mik Artistik’s Ego Trip are well known for their unique live performances and madcap antics deeming every performance not just a gig, but a truly momentous event. Perfect festival fayre, so much so that they have been entertaining the Glastonbury Festival for the last 11 years. Some say Glastonbury hasn’t really started until they’ve seen one of Mik’s multiple performances.

 

Le Vent du Nord
Québec

Combining a great stage presence with an energetic, dynamic flair, Le Vent du Nord 2022 sees them celebrate 20 glorious years on the road! The group never fails to delight crowds with their glorious mix of fiddle and foot-tapping, guitar, accordion, piano, bass, hurdy-gurdy and wonderful four part harmonies. It delivers catchy songs and tunes, some taken from the Québec traditional folk repertoire while others are original compositions. Its rich and varied instrumentation and well-polished musical arrangements  simply enhance their uplifting repertoire.

Lindisfarne

With a repertoire of unforgettable songs like Meet Me On The Corner, Fog On The Tyne, Lady Eleanor and Run For Home and a reputation for live performance second to none, Lindisfarne’s power to galvanize festival and concert audiences remains undimmed and is guaranteed to get the crowd on their feet and singing along.
In 2022 and in top form, with more than 50 years of musical history LINDISFARNE  present a classic five-piece line up of long-time members fronted by original founder-member Rod Clements.

Jim Ghedi

Jim Ghedi hails from the South Yorkshire hills and although clearly well versed in the history of Folk music, he stands out as a potential torch bearer for a new generation of respectful yet experimental performers.

Rum Buffalo

Rum Buffalo fornicate with rhythm and melody. Mingling many genres, they infiltrate swing and moody blues with filthy synth and epic horn lines to rock the party like no other act.
Since their formation, their jet-powered live show has stormed the UK live music scene, performing to 10,000 on the Truth stage at Glastonbury as well as dozens of other festivals.

Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys

One of the most exciting bands to have entered the UK folk scene in the past twenty years, The Lost Boys is the brainchild of BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winning singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Sam Kelly. The Lost Boys band has gained a reputation as one of the best live acts in the UK and they have packed out festival tents and venues the world over since they started in 2016.

Holy Moly & The Crackers
 
Holy Moly & The Crackers are the innovative and fiery folk-rockers from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne (UK), who bombastically mash together unique flavours of folk, rock and indie with a circus punk edge, and have become renowned for their blazing live shows. The band’s music has been used in film and TV including end credits of blockbuster movie Oceans 8, Strictly Come Dancing, Capital One, Kia Sportage and Shameless.

Alfa Sackey & Afrik Bawantu

Crossing the boundaries of World, funk and jazz Afrik Bawantu are an essential ingredient for any festival. Afla Sackey brings his musical dream of combining traditional Ghanaian highlife music with sizzling Afrobeat grooves to life, topping it off with an irresistible funky twist. The bands blend of African rhythms with fast, animated horns and heavy funk bass lines, brings a whole new definition to the genre.

Barbara Dickson with Nick Holland

In this special acoustic performance Barbara Dickson and her pianist Nick Holland explore her catalogue of songs at an intimate level. The pair let the words and melodies take ‘centre stage’ as they perform a wonderful range of material drawing on Barbara’s folk roots, contemporary greats, and some of her classic hits.


Me and My Friends

Me and My Friends play soulful, poignant music with a beat, subtly incorporating vintage highlife and afrobeat grooves into elegant folk songwriting. The UK-based quintet create a timeless sound with a global outlook, performed with an infectious energy, and the result is instantly recognisable, highly original and truly genre-defying.

Peatbog Fairies

A band to get you dancing. They have created a glorious mixture of traditional sounds and dance-floor grooves that have been embraced worldwide. From the moment they take to the stage, the mood is set for a no-nonsense feel-good atmosphere.

Before Breakfast explore feminist issues through the telling of personal stories – fusing their classical knowledge and rich arrangements with raw expression. Gina and Lucy’s music has always been beautiful, though is often layered with feminine discomfort.
