Hello everyone,
Matt and I have some exciting news about where the Lord is leading us that we wanted to share with you: We're back in Alaska! After our internship in Alaska we really feel the pull of the Holy Spirit calling us to ministry here. After seeing first hand the challenges people living off the road system face, and how necessary aviation is in those communities, we feel Alaska could be a great fit for us long-term. We are excited to be able to use our unique gifts and skills in the remote Alaskan interior.
Our drive from North Idaho to Soldotna, AK was over 2,600 miles through some of the most beautiful country we have ever seen.
After a couple weeks spent in the lower 48 praying, studying, and preparing, we made the long but beautiful drive up to Alaska in order to receive some additional flight training specific to Alaskan conditions. Alaska's unique weather, terrain, and airspace make it a challenging field to serve as pilots, so we want to enter into our mission here as safely and as best prepared as possible. This will give Matt the opportunity to earn his Flight Instructor rating, and Abi her Flight instructor Instrument add on. We anticipate this will take about 10 weeks, so this will also give us the chance to see more of Alaska's weather as it moves from fall to winter, and the challenges that go along with that.
We'll be working with a missionary aviation organization called Mission Aviation Repair Center located in Soldotna, Alaska. We will be able to volunteer with them part time putting our new mechanic's licenses to use maintaining  Alaskan missionaries and pastor's aircraft, in addition to the time we spend flight training. Due to the high cost of living in Alaska, we will need to raise some additional funds, but we have seen the Lord faithfully provide through the generous giving of His people all throughout our journey to the mission field. So we wanted to humbly ask if you would join us in prayer for these next steps, as well as prayerfully consider joining our support team?

Prayer requests:
  • Safety as we travel and fly
  • To serve well and be a blessing during these next few months
  • Wisdom as we make decisions about full term placement
Thank you all so much for your prayer and support on this journey! Love,
     Matt & Abi
