Greetings, as Auckland revels in the pleasure of being able to have picnics, I provide you with an update on a couple of Covid related matters, a couple of non-Covid related matters and some public service announcements to finish it up.
We all need to continue to encourage our colleagues and family to get vaccinated so that we can keep everyone safe, and so that we can reach a point where all businesses can once again operate without restrictions.

RESURGENCE PAYMENT #3
Applications for a third resurgence payment open tomorrow morning. The criteria remain exactly the same as for the previous two - you will need to show a 30% or more drop in revenue in a 7-day period from 1 October until immediately before all of NZ returns to Alert Level 1 compared to a typical 7-day period in the 6 weeks before 17 August. You are able to claim this whether or not you have claimed it before.
Applications remain open for all three resurgence payments until 1 month after NZ returns to Level 1. You apply through MyIR on www.ird.govt.nz and must be the account owner.
WAGE SUBSIDY #4 IS OPEN
Applications are open now and close on 14 October. Once again the requirement is that your business has been affected by the continuation of Alert Levels 3 and 4 and has suffered a 40% drop in revenue during the period 28 September - 11 October compared to a typical 14 day period in the 6 weeks prior to 17 August.
Remember you need to allow at least two weeks between applications, and if you have applied for one of the previous wage subsidies you will be notified when you are eligible to re-apply.

MANAWATU GOLF DAY
We unfortunately had to cancel both the Christchurch (due last month) and Wellington (due tomorrow after having been rescheduled from February) golf days due to Covid restrictions but we are still hoping to proceed with Palmerston North on 5 November. If are interested in playing please contact tania.mcdougall@printnz.co.nz It would nice to actually get one of these golf events ticked off this year. Fingers crossed.
AND A FEW PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS.....
- Inland Revenue's online services will close at 3 pm on Thursday 21 October and reopen on the morning of 28 October. A lot of you will have GST and possibly provisional tax due on 28 October and due to the unavailability of the system immediately prior to that date, you will have up until 4 November to file your returns and make any appropriate payments without penalty.
- In response to the increased risk of infection presented by the Delta variant, the Government have now reduced the recommended gap between vaccines to three weeks. If you have existing appointments you are able to bring these forward if you wish, and any new bookings for vaccinations will automatically default to three weeks. - QR Posters - effective from yesterday there are now three new requirements around QR posters which you need to be aware of:
- Additional copies must be displayed in places inside the business other than your entranceways
- QR posters must be kept in good condition
- The QR code must not be altered in any way that would make it unclear that it has been issued by the Government for the purposes of contact tracing i.e. putting it on your own branding.
- Finally, there is now a central hub for all Government United Against Covid-19 branded assets and resources which can searched by topic i.e. business. Visit https://toolkit.covid19.govt.nz/
