Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup

The 31st Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda with the support of Title sponsor Rolex and the International Maxi Association, was another successful edition, especially having missed the 2020 one.
With an overall attendance of 44 yachts, the Swan entry list was:

Nord Stream Race - The Nations League 2021 North Europe
6 - 17 September
With its 9th edition, realizing the basic principle of "Connecting the Baltic countries through Sports", only the best clubs from the National Sailing Leagues of Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Russia qualify for the Nord Stream Race, onboard ClubSwan 50 yachts.
This year it was a special edition, where live racing had been enjoyed during the winter and spring time by virtual regattas, achieving the huge success of +100.000 digital sailors taking part .
At every stopover, prestigious yacht clubs host the participating teams.
Gazprom is the General Partner of the Nord Stream Race along with Nord Stream AG as Partner. The hosting club and organiser is the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.
The 2021 edition goes to Finland, who, after a hard battle with the Russian team, won the lead in the last leg (Helsinki to St.Petersburg).
The inshore races were won by Russia.

The Nations Trophy 2021
14 - 18 September, Palma de Mallorca (SPA)
Germany took first place in the hotly contested Nations Trophy, held at Real Club Nautico, Palma. Italy came second and Russia third.
Congratulations to the class winners. In the ClubSwan 36 class for The Nations Trophy, it was Andrea Lacorte’s Vitamina who took the class win. The Nations League for the ClubSwan 36 was won by Giangacomo Serena di Lapigio, owner of G-Spot.
In the smaller ClubSwan 42 fleet, the competition was fierce up until the last downwind leg of the last race, with almost every boat capable of victory. In the end Natalia helmed by Natalia Brailoiu made up two places in the last few hundred metres to score a second place and a well-earned victory across the whole event. Natalia also wins The Nations League for the ClubSwan 42 class.
Balthasar and Earlybird were the best placed ClubSwan 50s overnight, after a good performance from the Belgian boat the day before. But while Balthasar lost ground, Sönke Meier-Sawatzki’s Niramo came steaming up with three consistently good races. Winning The Nations League was Hendrik Brandis’ Earlybird.
The Nations Trophy and Nations League may have been decided, but all eyes now turn to St Tropez for the final ClubSwan event of the year. Taking place from 13-17 October and offering the teams a shot at the ultimate glory of being declared World Champions in their class.

Les Voiles de St. Tropez
25 September - 9 October, St. Tropez (FRA)
The famous little port of Saint Tropez is filling up with gleaming Classic and Modern yachts and the commitment, passion and enthusiasm of the sailors racing Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
Battle commenced for over 130 yachts today, many of them supercharged with full carbon sails and rigs, starting out from Le Portalet, racing around the bay.
Twenty Swan yachts are racing over the course of the two-week regatta, fair winds to all!

All eyes now turn to St Tropez for the final ClubSwan event of the year, offering the teams a shot at the ultimate glory of being declared World Champions in their class. A record fleet of 42 attending Swan One Design will gather in the extraordinary setting for the boats mooring at Vieux Port of Saint Tropez

Swan 77-010 Mascalzone Latino
Swan 77-010 Mascalzone Latino is the last Swan 77 built therefore benefitting from the experience gained during the construction of the previous nine yachts.
The Swan 77 was conceived by Nautor’s Swan in response to the needs of their discerning owners who required larger sailing yachts. She has the accommodation of a larger cruising boat with the agility and handling of a thoroughbred even with a smaller crew.
In 2018, this example has been through a complete refit, which included the complete replacement of the engine, generator, a new boom, new teak deck and new set of cruising sails.
Swan 82-010 Grey Goose
Built for two defined missions. One is luxurious and short-handed family cruising with performance but without any stress on deck. The second mission is competitive racing in all conditions inshore as well as offshore and even transatlantic racing.
She is not a pure race boat, even more, she demonstrates the real Swan DNA by accomplishing both missions in a perfect manner being comfortable, sea worthy and very fast.
Even if she seems to be quite racing oriented in some aspects Grey Goose has spent roughly 85% of the owners sailing time in Family Cruising mode.
Swan 100 Hoppetosse
Superyacht and masterpiece built by Nautor’s Swan and launched in 2006. She combines the performance of a racing yacht with world-class comfort and opulence.

At home on water - Andrea Bianchedi’s experience on the Swan 98 Drifter Cube
You have an incredible boat. What was it like steering her for the first time?
It was October 2020 for the inaugural sail on the Baltic Sea with very substantial waves. From the start, it was clear that Drifter Cube could be easily handled despite its almost 100 foot length. I felt a strong connection with the boat, almost as if I were on my ClubSwan 50: it made a positive first impression. I was able to make the first and last leg of the maiden voyage - from Pietarsaari to Stockholm - and I joined the crew again once they reached Portugal.
We passed through the Gibraltar Strait and arrived in La Spezia.
How and when did you decide to buy your Swan 98?
I decided to purchase it two years ago at the Rolex Swan Cup. I was originally leaning towards a Swan 78 until I saw a 98 model that had just been unveiled. I fell in love with its proportions and had to buy it. To me, it was infinitely more beautiful.

Swan 58-005 Commissioned in Badalona
NSGS is grateful for being able to perform the commissioning of unit number 5 of the newest Swan 58 model. This time NSGS were responsible for the mast stepping and tuning, commissioning process and assembly of all the details on board, familiarization process and sea trials with the owner. It is amazing how she sails; a feeling of spaciousness, comfort and security, were the first impressions of the shipowner. Fair Winds and see you soon, Lullaby!

Sloop 78 - Ladisea back in the water
Ladisea came last year by cargo ship from Panama after being struck by lightning. After long disputes with the insurance, the boat managed to reach the yard in Badalona and after a long winter with a lot of work,has been able to complete the summer season in a very satisfactory way.

Swan 95-001 hauled out in Palma
NSGS Palma is getting busier with the arrival of October. The boats that have finished the wonderful summer season, are coming back to port in order to start maintenance work. NSGS has a specialized team of Project Managers and technicians based in Palma to be able to give assistance to any Swan around.
