Weekly Message from Mr Harding, Executive Head Teacher
It was a real pleasure to welcome parents to our Open Evening on Thursday 30th September.  It was our first chance to show off the school since lockdown and whilst we limited our numbers of parents in the building we were thrilled that so many parents had nothing but glowing comments about the school and the students that had given up their evening to show parents around.  We also ran out first live feed via Facebook to those who couldn't reserve a place on the evening and we were really happy with the feedback we received. CoVid has actually made us all far more inventive than perhaps we were before!
Finally, parents may well be aware of the increasing number of cases in the local area and whilst we are , at the moment at least, relatively unscathed there's nothing to say that we won't be affected in the coming weeks. To that end I would, once again, urge parents to ensure that the twice weekly testing is still happening and that we maintain the same high standards and levels of common sense that we've shown for so long now.

Football Academy News
We have had a promising start to the year, having welcomed all of our most recent recruits into the school in September.
A-Team
Our A-team have recently started their British College's League campaign with a 3-3 draw away to CP Coaching in Coventry, following a mixed bag of pre-season results against tough opposition.  Mr Shearer's pick for the most promising player so far is James Pritchard, who has also been elected as Team Captain for the season.
Four players have been selected for the Staffs School's FA u18 team; James Sutton, James Pritchard, Jimmy Yates and Louis Pelnens.

B-Team
Our B-team have had the best start to the season of all our teams, wining four and drawing one.  The best result being a 7-0 win against Shrewsbury Town Development this week.  Special mention to Alfie Webb for deputising in goal in several matches due to injuries to other goalkeepers.

C-Team
The C-team are currently top of their division, winning their first two league fixtures away at William Brooks before beating Shrewsbury College 5-3 this week.  Josh Parkes is currently top scoring with three goals to date.

D-Team
Our D-team have seen their league campaign unfortunately start with two cancelled fixtures, having previously recorded a good 3-1 victory against Wolverhampton Grammar in their last friendly.

Next week's fixtures
  • A team - Home to Pro Direct
  • B team - Away to Idsall
  • C team - Home to Martin O'Connor Academy
  • D team - Away to Telford College

Have your circumstances changed recently?
Parents claiming some benefits can claim free school meals for any of their children who are registered at a Staffordshire school and who would normally be at school at lunch time. School meals are a good way to ensure that your child eats well at lunchtime and you can save yourself time and money.

Even if you don't want your children to have the meals, claiming them helps their school. The more eligible parents who claim meals, the more funding the school receives.
