September 2021

“When Matthew came into the Selden End, without warning or sound, no icy patches announced his arrival. Instead there were touches of snowflakes along my hair, shoulders, and back, as if he were checking quickly to make sure I was all in one piece.”

*Chapter 11, A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES

*There’s still time to join us for the Real Time Read of A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES on my Author Page on Facebook (open to the public) or in the All Souls Discussion Group also on Facebook (must join group to participate).

Today, we’re reading Chapter 11 together. Tomorrow, Chapter 12…

Bennu paid me a visit. #TheRealLondonWildlife

happy birthday

Happy 3rd Book-Birthday on September 18 to TIME’S CONVERT, Book 4 of the All Souls Series, in which we find out what it takes to become a vampire, all about Marcus’s life before he met Matthew at Brandywine, and meet Freya de Clermont.

Q: I love this series. When can we expect Book 5?

A: I’m still writing it, so there’s no date yet! It won't be out in 2021 for sure.

Q: How far along are you with Book 5?

A: Absolutely no idea.

I'm not being difficult, I genuinely don't know. Remember that I thought I was writing a single book when I started ADOW. "Halfway" for that would have been somewhere in the middle of SON (which is the second book of the trilogy) if I'd followed my original plan. #NotAPlanner

Q: Okay, but can you tell us if there will there be more De Clermont family members in the next book?

A: There are definitely lots of de Clermonts in it…some you haven’t met yet.

mudlarking

I only take home what I want to keep.

I've only been mudlarking since the spring. First few trips, I picked up everything, and now I take home less and less as I know I already have something similar.

I don't know what other people do with their finds, but I have mine in a box on the shelf with my mudlarking books and a faux pincushion made from a piece of found pottery with holes in it.

Just realized I may have found two pieces from same pot or large jug!

today’s gratitude

Reading in bed, the sound of bells, toast.

London

A city of wonders and marvels. Today I witnessed the following:

—a woman putting on mascara while standing on the pavement outside Bank station. Was as calm as if she were in her own house

—a drinks bar where you can shoot clay pigeons indoors (what could go wrong??)

If you’re new to THE BLAST and would like to catch up on past issues, you can find them all archived here, on my website!
