The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc. has awarded $106,125 to six nonprofit organizations from the Harry and Janet Kitselman Fund.
Harry and Janet Kitselman were residents and civic leaders in the Muncie community. Per Mr. and Mrs. Kitselman's wishes, a fund was created to administer and distribute grants for the good of the people of Muncie, Indiana, and the surrounding community with fine arts, recreation, children, and the history of East Central Indiana as the areas of focus. The following organizations were recipients of a Harry and Janet Kitselman Fund Grant this year:
Greater Muncie, IN Habitat for Humanity Inc. received $20,000 to support Muncie Habitat's new building for the organization to better serve families through homeownership services, home repair programs, and neighborhood revitalization initiatives.
Muncie Children's Museum received $17,500 to support upgrades to the museum exhibits to create intentionally designed spaces for children, ten and under, that combine fun with skill development.
Precious Hearts Development Center received $12,500 to support the addition of two new playsets at their facility.
Ross Community Center received $15,000 for STEAM education and outdoor learning programming.
United Day Care Center received $21,125 for new flooring throughout the center.
Muncie Community Schools received $20,000 to support the virtual education platform and educator professional development and celebration through the annual summit.
