Sustainability Assessments Notice

Stat labs face many challenges that may derail them from the path of strong and sustainable stat labs (see attached manuscript). Several of these challenges were recognized from the synthesized findings from the recently performed LISA 2020 Sustainability Assessment (see attached).

The next step is to determine if these lessons learned and potential solutions can be adapted at other stat labs to overcome the challenges that they are facing and therefore bring them back onto the path of strong and sustainable stat labs.

To that end we are issuing a call for proposals for stat labs to perform experiments to test strategies to overcome their challenges and bring them onto the path of strong and sustainable stat labs. The stat labs will present the results of the experiments at the
4th LISA 2020 Symposium focused on “Sustainability of stat labs and the network” tentatively held in-person in Ghana from 30 May to 3 June, 2022.

Please note that the LISA 2020 Program will not be providing any funding to perform the sustainability experiment, but funding will be available to support travel to the Sustainability Symposium for presenters.

See attached document for more information and proposal template. We look forward to your proposals!
