Events in October 2021

Walking Events

Walking has been a great way to discover all the brilliant green spaces we have around us in Leeds and has been especially vital during lockdown where we’ve been unable to meet indoors as a group. This month we’ll be taking in the following:

Sunday 10th Roundhay Park . Meeting in the carpark opposite the cafe at 10:30am. Parking can be tricky so come early if you can.

Sunday 24th Gledhow Valley. Parking at Chapel Allerton Park then walking down to Gledhow - 10:30am

Ukelele group

Meeting every Wednesday from 11am til 1pm at the Woodhouse Moor Allotments. The group is for anyone who would like to join in no matter what level you are at.

Following our Ukulele group we now run a singing group at the Woodhouse Moor Allotment. We’re aiming to start a male choir singing pop and rock songs backed by our band. Running every Wednesday from 1pm til 3pm

Guitar Group ‘Everybody Hertz’

Look out for our new (and first) evening session music group looking at how music affects our mood and how small changes can have a really big impact. Lots of play and lots of theory. The sessions will be called 'Everybody Hertz' which came out of a conversation at the recent golf session and today's music group. It's fascinating stuff.

Tech Troubles

Do you ever get frustrated by tech? We’ve had lots of discussions about problems with computers and phones and so wanted to set up a session every 2 weeks where we can talk about these things as a group and help each other out. Examples of the sorts of things that have been bothering you are: How does ebay work, learning about YouTube, using a smartphone.

Photography group

Photography has been another great way of exploring the green spaces of Leeds. No special equipment is needed, a phone is fine and we have tablets you can use if you dont have one. This month we’ll be meeting on the following Mondays:

Monday 11th Kirkstall Abbey meeting at the Abbey from 10:30am

Monday 25th Meeting at Golden Acre Park at the cafe by the lake at 10:30am

Golf group

Golf has been a new one for us and following a few sessions at the driving range we’ve taken to doing a 9 holer in Kirkstall, we’ve been amazed at our progress and first time out didn’t lose a single ball!. It’s great being outdoors and is pretty good exercise physically and mentally. Come and have a go!

Vinyl Picnic

We’ve set up home in Gotts Park for our vinyl picnics this summer. We always have loads of vinyl so don’t worry if you don’t have any. It’s chat and tunes and usually snacks!
