Next Full CoC Membership Meeting

 The Fredericksburg Regional CoC will be hosting their quarterly full CoC membership meeting on Wednesday, October 13 at 10 AM, via GoToMeeting. This meeting is open to the public and does not require you to be a CoC member to attend.

CoC Information Session

CoC staff will be providing an informational session for any new members or interested community partners on October 13, 2021 at 9 AM via GoToMeeting (same info as above). The session will include a basic introduction to the CoC, current initiatives, and how to get involved in the work. There will also be time for Q&A. The session will last about 45 minutes with a small break before going into the full CoC membership meeting.

Unsheltered Homelessness Summit


On Wednesday, September 29th the Fredericksburg Regional Continuum of Care hosted the Unsheltered Homeless Summit bringing together local government, nonprofits and area partners to discuss the opportunity for addressing unsheltered homelessness once and for all. Housing is healthcare and all are deserving of a place to call home.

Town Talk


Christian Zammas, CoC Board Chair, and Samantha Marie Shoukas, CoC Program Director, spoke on Town Talk with Ted Schubel on 9/15! Christian shared about his business, Katora Coffee, and his story of homelessness. Sam and Christian discussed current efforts in homeless services, people living unsheltered, and giving back to the community.

Rent Relief Program
Legal Aid Works’ housing navigator, Rose Martinez, is available to assist applicants for the statewide Rent Relief Program (RRP).  Rose will travel to applicants’ homes and help with all aspects of the application process (interacting with the landlord, getting all required documents uploaded, tracking the progress of the application) and would be happy to attend any event or speak with any organization wishing to know more about the RRP.  Contact Rose at rmartinez@legalaidworks.org, 540-371-1105, Ext. 128.

Current Funding Opportunities

FY21 HUD CoC Program


The Fredericksburg Regional CoC is soliciting project applications for inclusion in our collaborative application for the FY21 HUD Continuum of Care Program Competition.
 

The Local Notice of Funding Availability contains information on applicant eligibility and requirements, project requirements, estimated funding available, funding process and timeline, application submission, and the appeals process.


Applicants must submit both a HUD project application and a supplemental application for each project by October 11, 2021 at noon to be considered.

VA Housing Trust Fund


The Fredericksburg Regional Continuum of Care is accepting requests for Letters of Support as part of applications for the Virginia Housing Trust Fund (VHTF) – Homeless Reduction Grant. Letters of Support from the CoC are required as part of the application process.

Please visit the VHTF page of the Virginia Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) website for more information about this program.


Follow the process for requesting a CoC letter of support here. Applicants must submit requests by October 12, 2021 at noon to be considered.
