School Based Health Alliance (SBHA) Census Survey
Please complete the 2020 SBHA census survey and help represent Colorado on the national stage! SBHA is keeping their census open until October 15, 2021 for ALL Colorado SBHCs to complete it, and Apex Evaluation is offering an opportunity to support CDPHE-funded SBHCs in reporting some of the data! Apex will share one data file to each CDPHE-funded sponsor organization that includes aggregate, site-level National Quality Initiative (NQI) measures for each of the sponsor's SBHCs. Each sponsor can then share this file directly to SBHA by October 15, 2021, in lieu of completing the NQI section. Apex will share more information with the data file on October 5, 2021.

It is useful to see how Colorado SBHC work aligns with other SBHCs nationwide and provides a more comprehensive look at our state data. Data allows us to tell the story of your work and needs, which is critical to advocating for SBHC funding and expansion. To access the survey, you will log into SBHA’s data portal using this link. Once you login, you will see an instructional video and description of the purpose of the survey. Note that CDPHE-funded SBHCs should still fill out the other sections of the survey up to the NQI section.

Tobacco treatment text messaging interventions
The Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF) just announced an update to the recommendation for text messaging interventions to increase the number of adults who successfully quit tobacco. Text messaging interventions deliver evidence-based information, quitting strategies, and behavioral support directly to people who want to quit smoking or using other tobacco. CPSTF recommends text interventions based on strong evidence of effectiveness in improving tobacco cessation among adults.

The Colorado Quitline has offered digitally-based support since 2007. The QuitLine serves nearly 450 people a day through text, phone, and online services. Most recently, Colorado has made it even easier for youth and young adults to get tailored treatment for tobacco and vape use by offering text-to-enroll services. To learn more, visit COQuitline.org or MyLifeMyQuit.org.
