REMINDER: Please remember to check with your State EMS office for updates and licensure deadlines specific to your state EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic license renewals.  Please disregard this email if you have already completed your recertification.

DISTRIBUTIVE EDUCATION

As a reminder, Distributive Education limits have been removed for those EMTs, AEMTs and Paramedics due to recertify on March 31, 2022, and for EMRs due to recertify by September 30, 2022. Realizing unique needs and challenges that continue to exist, we removed the limits to allow all Continuing Education to be accomplished online through any state-accepted or CAPCE-accredited program or education site. Of course, in-person continuing education will also be accepted.

UPDATED FEE SCHEDULE

There will be a new Recertification fee schedule effective January 1, 2022. Though the increase takes effect at the beginning of the year, you can still take advantage of the current fee by completing the recertification process between October 1 and December 31, 2021.

The National Registry made this decision only after serious deliberation and extensive discussion. Like all non-profit organizations whose business costs have grown, we have made every effort to minimize fee increases. At the heart of all that we do, you will find our commitment to the highest certification standards and supporting EMS professionals and their desired career path. Recertification fees cover vital operational and program development costs, which allow the National Registry to advance EMS Certification through our credentialing programs.

We encourage everyone to take advantage of the lower rate and hope this extended notice period will allow those who are recertifying to take advantage of this option. Please see the new fee schedule in the table above.

To complete the recertification process and qualify for the lower 2021 recertification fee, you must complete the recertification application, pay the recertification fee and submit your application by December 31, 2021.

RECERTIFICATION BY EXAMINATION (RBE)

Also, Recertification by Examination (RBE) continues to be an available option for all Nationally Registered providers. RBE allows you to demonstrate continued cognitive competency without the need to document continuing education. For more information, visit the Recertification Page on our website at www.nremt.org
