- Your weekly hello from 10 Main Street -
Tomorrow is the 1st of October, which means yes, we are now deep into Oktoberfest at Proof!
Stop by to ask us about our sprawling collection of Marzen Style Lagers.
It's Marzen time!
This is just a small fraction of the Oktoberfests available this season!
 From Left to Right:

Oktoberfest by Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co.

This is a Marzen Lager from one of our favorite Breweries. A malty, amber lager with smooth texture and robust flavor and a subtle floral note on the finish.

5.5% ABV

Fest Bier by Black Hat Brew Works

Here's another one, this time with a slightly higher abv. This is a small batch production out of Bridgewater. This one should be enjoyed with a hot pretzel or some bratwurst.

7% ABV

Curse of the Damned by Adroit Theory Brewing

This Oktoberfest is from Virginia and has a more subtle approach to the style. A touch lighter than others but with the same favor profile, much like the
Weihenstephaner Festbier.

5.3% ABV
Fun Wines for the Weekend!
Château du Bousquet
Côtes de Bourg
2018

This is a wonderful red blend out of Bordeaux. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The end result is a bold wine with very well rendered tannins, plenty of acidity, and minimal residual sugar, making this a very dry, very flavorful wine. You will get notes of cherry and raspberry upfront and a bit of smoke and oak on the finish. This is most certainly steak wine, but it would also go great with some cheese and charcuterie.
Eszterházy
Estoras Grüner Veltliner
2019

Here is a lovely Grüner from Austria. This is a very light, bone dry wine with a lot of acidity and salinity. It is fruit forward with notes of lemon, green apple, and an herbal finish. This is a great wine to hang onto the summer with, a rebellious cry against the changing of the seasons, a light, crisp, and refreshing reminder of warmer days. Also this would pair exceptionally well with salmon, poultry, and most salads.
Yellow Bird Tennessee Straight Whiskey

New to the Whiskey section is this hidden gem. Yellow Bird Tennessee Straight Whiskey is a traditional sour mash out of Tennessee, a robust and full bodied whiskey with notes of baking spices and caramel upfront and tobacco and vanilla on the finish. This is the perfect thing to keep you warm as we head into Autumn. Pour it on the rocks or sip neat with a splash of club soda or water to get the most out of its comforting flavors.
Cheers!
