1. Praetoria Recap
September 25-26, 2021
This year's virtual Praetoria was a huge success! Here is a brief recap of what happened:
- Organized by 1st Vice President Grace Shen and mentor Ms. Piacesi-Choplin, the virtual Praetoria was lead by student officers to present topics such as elections, competitions, fundraising, testing, and more.
- All officers were present during various parts of the Praetoria, and around 30 participants from chapters across Georgia attended.
- During times when the presentation was not focused on leadership building skills, officers and participants bonded over activities such as playing ice breakers or watching movies.
Again, a huge thank you to all our officers and Ms. Piacesi-Choplin for making virtual Praetoria happen, and to everyone who participated!

2. Fall Forum & Host/Hostess Competition
To ensure COVID safety, Fall Forum will be virtual this year. There will be no official registration for attending Fall Forum, and the FAX will be released shortly through the GJCL Instagram (@georgia.jcl).
The annual Host/Hostess Competition, as always, will be hosted during the virtual Fall Forum. The FAX can be found here, with the due date, description, requirements, application process, dress code, and advice outlined. Please do not hesitate to email the current Hostess Diane Chen through dianechen888@gmail.com if you have any questions!

3. GJCL Membership
Membership for GJCL is coming on Monday, October 4th. Please be on the lookou for that email from Mrs. Piacesi-Choplin due to a change from the previous years' forms. Any older formats will not be accepted and will result in your chapter NOT BEING CORRECTLY REGISTERED. As a reminder, you must register as a chapter with both NJCL and GJCL. GJCL is no longer paying any ACL, GCA, or NJCL dues on behalf of sponsors.

4. MAC Wave 2
The applications for MAC (Membership Advisory Committee) Wave 2 has been released! Briefly, the MAC serves as an opportunity for GJCLers to help with state events and ongoings. Members of the MAC learn about how GJCL officers plan events and represent GJCLers in major decisions and opinions.
The link for the MAC applications can be found here, and the results for this wave will be released on October 18th at 9 PM via email and GroupMe. Delegates of small or budding chapters are highly encouraged to join!

5. Website Updates
The new website is close to being released! Stay tuned for further information about the website release on the GJCL Instagram (@georgia.jcl)

6. Club of the Month
The GJCL COTM September submissions are now open and will close October 15th. The updated submission link for the Club of the Month can be found here, and the rubric for COTM can be found here.

7. Submissions to Alae Mercurii
Contribute your own works to the Alae Mercurii! The deadline for these submissions is November 5th, so please submit to the GJCL Editor Ellie Park by then.

8. Certamen Syllabus
