“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

Prayer Requests Request

Is there someone in your life you are especially troubled over, someone who is not following Christ? Perhaps, they once loved Jesus and lived for Him, but now they have turned their heart away. Their will does not yield to God’s will. Their devotion is not for the work of the Lord, but the things of the world. You hope and trust for their salvation, but you wonder if they might be lost.

We have people like that in our life, people who are unsaved or backslidden, and we feel led to invite you to send us the names of anyone you know who needs to be born-again. We are collecting these names for very concentrated prayer. Feel free to share as much or as little about them as you feel the need to share. We just ask for a first name and last initial.

From Whispers to Shouting

When times are challenging, it’s time to praise the Lord. We praise Him because He is worthy, but we also praise Him to remind ourselves of His goodness and might. Satan is always trying to defame the Lord, but taking just one moment to praise Him makes that lying Devil flee! God made it so easy for us, didn’t He? Feel oppressed, stressed, or depressed? Rejoice in the Lord! Those praises may start as a whisper, but I promise you that if you keep it up, they will turn into shouts of glory!

God bless you today. It’s the first of the month, and as we journey through October let’s face the challenges before up with confessions of hope in our Faithful King. Just think about it: the Creator, the One who holds the stars and planets in their orbit, the One who can tell us how many fish are in the sea—this amazing and marvelous God LOVES you! And, that would be enough, but He also CARES for you! While even that would be more than enough, He also HEARS you. He listens when you call out to Him—whether in a whisper or a shout.

God bless you today, and every day.

A Proposition

We don’t hold many fundraisers. We try to do one at least once a year, and there’s usually one or two people a year who will hold one on Facebook. In fact, Dinice Newman is hosting one right now. She is the wife of Pastor Steve Newman of By Faith Fellowship in Georgetown. These fundraisers are such a blessing, and we are so touched every time people remember the needs of those who are “the least of these.” It encourages us—and, it helps! However, that is not our proposal.

What we would like to propose is a way you can support NBF that won’t actually cost you a cent. Are you familiar with Smile.Amazon.com? This is a grant-giving program Amazon developed that will grant funds to any non-profit in their program. If you follow the link, you can read more about it. It’s very easy to do, and the funds they donate come from them—not you. You only need to select New Brothers, Inc. as the non-profit you would like to support.

There is also a program via eBay that allows you to contribute a portion of your sale to a non-profit, or add funds at check-out to a non-profit. However, those funds are coming from you.

HopeMail News

We have good news and bad news. The good news is that HopeMail is continuing to grow each month. Our subscribers have now more than doubled since the start of the year. Praise God! We believe the Christmas mailing will go out to at least 500 people.

There is some bad news, though: postage has just gone up three cents. Three cents! My heart sank. Where did all that faith go, Caroline?

No, I will not be defeated by three cents. There may come a day, God forbid, when we’ll have to rotate who can get a mailing that month. However, I don’t want to do that at Christmas. So, if you feel so led, please consider buying a book of stamps for HopeMail. Thank you!

Now, to make sure we end this on a high note, I want to share this note. I love getting notes like this one below…just a scrap of paper with a simple request: Please, send me anything about God! The hunger for things of the Spirit is real, and it fills my heart with joy knowing we will be able to meet this need right away! Thank you all for caring for the men and women inside, and making it possible for us to do this.

Send Hope in the Mail!
