Welcome to October in Lowton and Golborne

Good luck Andy!

This Sunday, we'll be cheering on Golborne man Andy Smullen, who is taking on the London Marathon to raise money for an important charity.

The dad-of-two is running to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK, a charity which supports people with muscle-wasting conditions. Andy was inspired to take on the challenge by his friend's son, who has the condition.

If you'd like to show your support, you can sponsor Andy's marathon challenge now!

The event, which raises money for Cancer Research UK, takes place on Sunday, October 17 at Haydock Racecourse.

The proceeds from this important fundraiser will help scientists find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, saving lives as the charity fights back from the impact of the pandemic.

Plus, taking part wth friends and family is a lot of fun, too.
