Churches Together in Herefordshire – Open Meeting
The next Churches Together in Herefordshire Open Meeting, to which all local groups are invited as well as anyone interested in ecumenism, will be held on Tuesday 2nd November in the Great Hall at the Bishop’s Palace, Hereford at 10am.
Revd Canon Sarah Brown will be our Guest Speaker, who is to be installed as the new Dean of Hereford Cathedral on 2nd October.  She has been asked to speak about ‘Cathedrals as Ecumenical Spaces’ and we look forward to hearing what she has to say.  To be added to the mailing list for information about the meeting, please email Anna – herefordshireceo@gmail.com
Churches Together in England – Local Group Re-imagining

Many Churches Together and Christians Together Groups across the country are using the time as we emerge from lockdowns to self-reflect and look at new ways of working.  To support the process,  CTE has published an A4 document with examples of Groups that have already worked through the re-imagining process and questions that Groups might ask of themselves to prayerfully seek a way forward.  The document can be found here on the new Churches Together in England website.
Churches Together in Herefordshire – Church Lifeline Update
Churches Together in Herefordshire is continuing to hold a monthly Zoom call – often quite brief – where churches’ representatives can check in and pick up information about resources and contacts, as well as hearing about Vennture activities in the county.  The next one is on Wednesday 6th October at 11.00am when Lynette Halpin, Senior Link Manager for the Family Programme at Vennture will be giving us an update on their activities and current issues.

Churches Together in Ewyas Harold - AGM
 
Christians in Ewyas Harold are meeting on Monday 18th October at 7.30pm in St Michael’s Church Hall.  All are welcome to help them consider their future role and shared activities over the next year.
Christians Together in Orleton - Environmental Sunday Worship

Ecumenical worship continues on a monthly basis in Orleton.  Christians Together in Orleton will be holding a an Environmental Sunday Service held on Sunday 3rd October, at which an innovative new National Lottery funded project for Orleton will be explained.  The project will be looking at ways to involve the whole community in environmentally sustainable projects.
 
Vennture Family Pastors – Volunteer Training

A new series of 6 training sessions for new volunteer Family Pastors starts later this month on Tuesdays, 12-2.30pm.  If you are interested, contact enquiries@vennture.org.uk for an application pack.
 
Ledbury LEAF (Locally Encouraging All to Flourish) - Christians Against Poverty
Ledbury LEAF – the social action charity run by all the churches in Ledbury and Ledbury Methodist Church have partnered with Christians Against Poverty to offer   CAP Money Course – a free short course to help people manage money better and learn to budget, save and spend well.  The next one will be on Thursdays 14th, 21st & 28th October, 12.30-2.30pm (sandwich lunch provided) at Ledbury Methodist Church, Bye Street.  For more information and to book, call 01531 598007  LEAF activities, events and information about their many projects can now be found on their new website – https://www.leafledbury.com/
Herefordshire Refugee Response – housing

Herefordshire Council is seeking suitable accommodation as a response to housing Afghan refugee families and are looking for 2 - 4 bed housing in Hereford, Ledbury and Leominster.  Please contact Chrissie Pepler if you know of potential housing, who will pass on the information c.pepler@hereford.anglican.org

M-Cent – Eco Church online Conference

Marches Christian Environmental Network (M-CENT) draws together Christians of all denominations across the Marches who are concerned about the impact of climat change and protecting our environment.  Their next Eco Church online conference will be on the topic of ‘Church Buildings; moving towards net zero’.  It will be held on Tuesday 19th October at 7.30pm with Catherine Ross, Sustainable Churches Officer for the Church of England as keynote speaker.

Churches Together in England – Forum 2022
             
Churches Together in England holds a Forum every three years and details of the next one have been launched.  Bringing together over 300 representatives of Member Churches, Intermediate Bodies and others, it is the broadest ecumenical gathering of Christians in England.  The next one will take place 14-16 March 2022 at the Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Derbyshire.  The theme is ‘Reconciling Hope – a broken Church for a broken World’.

Kitchen Table Project – reconnecting generations

The Kitchen Table Project is part of ‘Care for the Family’ and aims to equip and encourage parents to nurture their children’s faith at home.  They produce free materials and ideas to help parents share Jesus at home.  They are holding a free session for church leaders and children’s workers exploring how we can help generations connect. 
The Zoom session will be hosted by the Kitchen Table Project networkers and guest speakers and will explore brand new resources, ideas and practical solutions.  To find out more and register for one of the sessions – Tuesday 5th October 7.30pm; Wednesday 6th October 1pm or Thursday 7th October 10am - here
