Welcome to the second edition
of the APH special on Implementation Science!

A new academic year has started, so it's about time for a new APH Special on implementation science! Our team of the Amsterdam Center for Implementation Science (AmsCIS) has been busy the past few months: we have plotted our plans and goals for AmsCIS (mission & vision) and we have expanded our network and knowledge hub. We are very exciting to share some of our plans, and we are eager to learn all-things implementation you've been up to!

* We have a new, exciting, online AmsCIS network session coming up: - Yes We Can! - on October 12, 12:30-13:30. Contact us here to receive the invitation link.

* We now have an official email address: aph.amscis@amsterdamumc.nl. So do you have a question for us, a great idea for our network or do you want to share something else? Don't hesitate to contact us!

* Coming editions of the APH Special on implementation science will no longer be shared APH-wide. Would you like to receive future APH specials on implementation science? Then sign up here.

NEWSLETTER HIGHLIGHTS:
AMSCIS NETWORK SESSION - YES WE CAN! -

Do you have a problem, challenge or amazing implementation idea that you want to discuss with fellow implementation peers and experts? Or do you want to join our session to discuss, solve and learn from other APH researcher’s challenges/ideas?

Then sign up for the AmsCIS network session – Yes, We Can! - on October 12, 12:30-13:30.

As APH researchers, we sometimes get stuck in complex implementation problems. Working with a lot of stakeholders, and dealing with different values and interests in implementation research and practice can be very challenging.

AmsCIS wants to give you a platform to discuss, solve and learn from each other’s implementation problems, challenges and ideas. Therefore the upcoming AmsCIS networking session offers you the unique possibility to discuss any kind of implementation challenge or idea you might be facing in practice or during your research, and provides the opportunity to help and learn from other researchers and the challenges that they are facing.

Together with other APH peers and experts in the field of implementation research, we will discuss your problem or amazing idea at the first edition of the ‘Yes, We Can!’ AmsCIS network session on October 12, 12:30-13:30. During the session one or two problems, challenges or ideas will be discussed in the group.

As APH researcher, you can join in two ways:
  1. Do you have a problem, challenge or amazing implementation idea that you want to discuss with APH implementation experts and peers? Send your implementation issue to us via email before October 8, and we will provide you with further information.
  2. Would you like to discuss, solve and learn from other APH researcher’s problems/challenges/ideas in implementation research and practice? Then sign up here. When your registration is confirmed, we will send you a meeting request with Teams link.
We hope to see you all at the first ‘Yes, We Can!’ session on October 12!
IMPLEMENTATION SCIENCE RESEARCH AGENDA

The Dutch Implementation Collaborative (Nederlands Implementatie Collectief | NIC) aims to improve the field of implementation in The Netherlands. The NIC Implementation research working group has been asked to develop a knowledge agenda for implementation research in The Netherlands. The aim is to map out major research knowledge gaps. Several (APH) researchers have participated in interviews to provide input for an e-Delphi that will start this autumn. One of the often mentioned gaps during the interviews were working mechanisms of implementation strategies within different contexts.

Results of the e-Delphi will be available around beginning of 2022. For more information on this project (Dutch), click here.

IMPLEMENTATION LEARNING NETWORK
SPORT & PHYSICAL ACITIVITY
ZonMw has awarded 16 researchers from different universities to participate in a 2-year process of developing a sustainable implementation network in the field of Sport and Physical activity.

The participants are trained by our APH Implementation researcher Femke van Nassau, supported by the Knowledge Centre for Sport & Physical Activity. All participants will apply lessons learned to an intervention that showed effectiveness, but is not yet widely used in practice. They will closely collaborate with practice and policy stakeholders. During a 2-day kick-off meeting in Papendal the first steps were taken in creating the network and exchanging experiences. For more information, click here.
